‘Powerpuff Girls’ Live-Action Series - Officially Dead

Why is Blossom the one with mental issues when Bubbles is the one that was best friends with HIM? HIM is obviously a reference to the devul and probably also Chtulu considering how he first showed up, talking through her stuffed toy octopus.

These guys even get their terrible idea wrong.
Blossom seems the only one who has their shit together (relatively at least). Bubbles and Buttercup are fucking whack jobs.

The original show had separate episodes of Bubbles proving she was hard core by shoving Blossom into the dirt and Buttercup going to a Buddhist monastery to help with her anger problems.

Because the cartoon is a “safe sterilized white-washed version” version what REALLY happened in the live action show. So HIM in the “real world” is probably a transwoman who was unfairly villanized by the show and had her life ruined or something.

As she probably should be.

Oh no doubt. But there is whitewashing reality and then there is getting things completely backwards and unrecognisable. Bubbles seem like the logical choice to give mental issues to.

There are things and topics that happened in the original show that basically scream character storylines for each girl if the show was for YA and this show gets it wrong.

Última edición:
I joked about what I though a mature PPG would be when someone first told me this was happening. The Script leak has confirmed my idea of Bubbles being in a committed relationship with HIM and running a nature reserve, Blossom being a politician and Buttercup being a nun spreading the good lord's word have been better.

This has just made me think 'how would I fix this?'
You have Buttercup kill Mojo, due to anger, Blossom take the blame because it's the kind of thing she would do and Bubbles is suffering because the incident split the family up. Done in a way that does not completely ruin them all.

Última edición:
I can only hope they meant that in an ironic, joking way.
But looking at their icon, let alone their posts...
She also works for CN's Victor and Valentino, and wrote episodes like "In Your Own Skin" which had this.... interesting little scene
Keep in mind, this character is intentionally modeled after and voiced by Miggs herself

I just found out about the reboot, but I'm surprised that Blossom was never blackwashed, then I found out that the actress playing her (Chloe Bennet) is a Chink (or part Chink) which I guess is close enough. And of course Buttercup, the "tough, hotheaded tomboy" would be the one who becomes black. And the professor too?

I'm guessing if Fuzzy Lumpkins is in the show, his character will be a conservative, Trump supporting inbred hick from Alabama.

Considering all those less than stellar reboots of old kids shows makes me wonder if the people, who do them, actually hate the originals. Many say they do love them, but looking at the fuckery they do with them, I highly doubt that they're honest. At the end they just want to cash in an easy paycheck by riding on the waves of nostalgia at best or force "representation" into them at worst, which is just disgusting.

On an aside: Why do they always turn the characters I like the most into blacks? As a kid I identified the most with Buttercup, so it just pisses me of that they turned her from a tomboy into a black lesbian fuck-up.

It's a cw show so at least 90% percent of the villians will probably be conservatives or white men.
