Sure does. Berke Breathed shaped my view of effective characterization (of course my local paper only carried the daily strip and never the Sundays so it was lucky if I could find an out-of-town paper to read those in the 80's).
Still amused at my slam on trick or treating as that was what it felt like as a kid. I don't expect too many to get the PAL Gum reference but it was quite widespread in the 80's, every one bought that damn brand for the night.
This is a coloring of the cover from Artifacts #1. This was a real test to compete with the colors used in the computer colored original (I had to talk myself out of a lot of self-doubt).
Though this goes back a good two decades, here's an assortment of stuff I did in high school of interest to share here...
First, the first two pages of an essay/researchpaper I did on the show "Beavis & Butt-Head", it was so quirky yet I loved the few drawings I added in for good measure.
Once I was in the Pep Club and all I ever did was create cruddy flyers for the team. Here's one.
One year I sent in a design for the float design in the "Snake Dance" (a sort of parade my high school would have the day before the Homecoming game). It was never picked though I thought I had a good idea here..

Now some crappy computer graphics outputted to a dot-matrix printer or whatever else they could afford.
I often felt the best I got out of this class was getting to design a page in a calendar the entire class had to do, I got my submission done first so I got to also do the front cover as well.
Just realized I drew the mouse cord just like the way Chris did in one of those sub-episodes. I blame that on the laser printer otherwise, I put too much effort into the details of that goddamn computer anyway!
During my junior year, I submitted and got approval for, the cover to the yearbooks spring supplemental, though originally I had intended for it to be a "wraparound" piece, but they simply printed it on one side, leaving the back side blank. Crappy tightwad school system.
Now some paintings, including some crappy self-portrait I had to do with random junk in the background to appease the teacher's demands for me to be 'finished' with it.
Now one photo, an arty selfie I took in photgraphy class.
To end this post, here's something I did for fun a decade later, getting a couple things printed in VIZ's Shonen Jump magazine in their "OK Jump Guy" page (shouldn't be hard to tell if you already know my name by now).

Though this is going off-topic, my younger brother showed promise when he took a Commercial Art course in school, sadly he ended up working for a furniture shop in town until it closed for good and is now at some electronics store. Here's a bit of what he did.
