Now kids have a 24/7 stream of real gore and horny shit they shouldn't be exposed to from their phones, and wanting to be traumatized so bad without understanding trauma, that they pretend someone standing to close to their fake magical pony avatar sets them off in real life.

For a lot of them it isn't even watching gore. Trauma is glamourised in fiction for kids/teens and if you have scars that makes you special and unique and tragic, and therefore it must be a huge part of your entire identity you take everywhere with you - even in a chat sim based off of My Little Fucking Pony.

I used to like this game, I don't have an attachment to it anymore. It is first and foremost a roleplay game, then second like what people have said above, it is a glorified chat room - you meet and chat with new people. The people are the worst and the best part of this game. I'd say 8 out of 10 people you strike up a conversation is the most dry and sad conversation, 1 out of 10 are normal, cool people, 1 out of 10 are realllyyyy weirddd people.

In a sentence, Ig PT is a microcosm of furry/brony community culture. Majority of them are minors, the non minors are chronically online; horny or fetishist or both, a non insignificant(?) part of them are stoners, there is a plethora of mental illness. And some people are normal ig.

It's overall strange that a game totally about talking to people has alot of people who are unfriendly and dislike talking to people.

(The devs do be getting many patreon bucks, but updates for an 'actual game' happen at a snail's pace - idk much abt this side of the game tho.)

Things of interest:

Spoiler: Plentiful minors on the 18+ server

- Many of the players on the 18+ server are minors (~50% or more, idk), despite there being a safe sever for teens. Many of these minors pretend to be 18+, but you can pretty easily suss them out.
- Many minors enjoying doing ERP
- I feel like the general community consensus is, the adults do not enjoy the minors. Interacting with them is a little bit suspicious (?pedophile). But for a game about mlp... it's pretty hard to avoid it.
- Hence, many people ask about the age of the player when they start a conversation

Spoiler: Brony's and their kinks....

- Many brony's have fetishes, this is common knowledge
- Anecdotally, some bronies will drop conversation about their fetishes... out of the blue... (I guess they are looking for likeminded individuals) I have had what seemed like a normal conversation, until suddenly they will throw some shit like 'do you like Vore btw? I love the idea of digesting someone ". (idk man)
- Vore and monster fucking is the most common i've seen, but there is probably many of the same
- Additionally, many PT players link their public socials in their profile (can be seen in their carrd, or directly linked to their PT acc), which sometimes they are publicly retweeting/talking about the most vile fetish content

- PT is first and foremost a roleplaying game, most of it is standard RP but, ERP is rampant in the brony community and PT is not spared

- There is a specific expression mimicking anime ahego(?) face
- the sit up and stand movement repeated emoted looks kinda like sexual activity or twerking
- there is also the nod movement, which looks kind of like giving a bj when repeated emoted

- Locations where ERP happens:

- People host maps at the docks, and invite strangers, not all are sexual, but there are group ERP sessions and 'strip clubs'... (this is more of an ironic joke than anything)​

Spoiler: What's the big deal about 'TT/TD/Touch trigger/Touch discomfort'?

- I'm not so sure myself! but some people find it very 'triggering' if my pixels were in contact with your pixels
- The thing is, to start a conversation, the PT convention is to 'say hi' with a 'boop' (touching someone, see below) and if they boop you back, they want to talk. So alot of the time people wanting to start a conversation inavoidantly end up triggering the TD person.

TT/TD/DNTUF/OTD: Touch Trigger, Touch Discomfort, Do Not Touch Unless Friend, Occasional Touch Discomfort.
If your pixels come into contact with someone who has a touch trigger, they'll pretend to have a mental breakdown. Haphephobia and phantom touch is a real thing, but there are zero clinical cases where phantom touch can affect you on a 2D pixel game. Of course, these users will frequently sit near the most populated areas of the game.

Spoiler: Trolling behaviours observed:

- Most of these things are petty and valueless behaviours, but they make people mad, PT actually has a decent number of trolls
- The hide/block button is used liberally, if you block a player, you will not be able to see them, and they will not be able to see you, but other players can see both of you.
- Some of these behaviours are done semi-ironically, but the sincere serious reactions to them is quite strange
- Sometimes, a mob of people will try to cover the troll, if they are annoyed and trying to stop them

'Offensive' skins
- KKK hood skins
- Hitler +/- swatizka
- Massive male genitalia (you can customise your pony to look like a penis)
- RPing as underaged characters but wearing 'sexy clothes' (idk man)
- Racist skins in gen

Sniping people collecting things
- You can collect clovers and pearls in summer, eggs in easter and gifts in winter. The former 2 are just for bragging rights of how many you have, but the latter 2 are for earning festive collectables at certain thresholds. The first one to click the item will get the item, so if two players are competing over an item, they can get quite angry if you 'steal' it from them
- pearls spawn once in a while (~a couple minutes), I have seen people walk between pearls hours at a time just waiting for one to spawn and collect them
- Some people cover the collectable with the body of their character, because if they try to click the collectable they will just end up clicking the character instead


Covering other people
- Using your body to hide another player is disrespectful because it obscures them from view
- Some trolls enjoy sitting in front of other players, when the player moves slightly to the right, the troll will often follow, leading to a little cat and mouse game.

Starting debates in public chat like 'DID is not real', 'TD is not real'

- Sometimes people who are upset, will put their character crying and sitting at a spot e.g. going through breakup


- Areas of interest:
Docks:

- ^this is considered pretty empty, but at US evening times it can be really really packed
- many people start their public debates here! and it's like the common parliament, everyone contributes their opinion, dogpiles on other people etc. kind of a mess
- people also host their public maps here
- a group of 4chan hang out here as 'anonfillies'

Spawn:

- Spawn is where you character first spawns, this is considered slightly more toxic than docks, but I personally think docks is more toxic

Area adjacent to cafe:
- developers hang out here

- having a character with wings is easier to traverse the map better, you move faster and can go over cliffs


- Toggling these options on your profile, helps indicate looking for chat/RP, and you can see other players that want to chat/RP too

One more thing about the chronically online thing, ask any player to display their 'playtime'. It will show how many days their have wasted on this game.

Just to make sure I understand - are these "maps" user-created and not official maps created by the website owners/artists? If so, does that mean there's some kind of "map creator"?

These are user created maps. You get an island to edit and make your own and invite other people to it. I think the only official map is the one you spawn in and that's it.

Yes to what Vertigo said. I would like to add 'stripper pole' is not a default furniture lmao, people are just pretty creative with in-game items (Sometimes it's wholesome tho, like coconuts + 4 limes = turtle!).

The dev team itself are fine, it's the people playing the game that are interesting.

I won't dote on this other stuff as autistically, but a few more things I found:

* These gooners in the schoolhouse(?) spamming the kiss emote on each other

* Yet another guy who joins the chatroom game but doesn't want anyone to interact with him

I haven't played this game in years but something I've noticed is that the map is so big it's basically un-navigable. It takes like 5 minutes to walk from one end of it to the other now. I think the reason so many people playing this just don't interact with anyone is because you can just fuck off into your own corner of the world away from everyone else. Back when the map was smaller you saw more strangers interacting with each other because everything was so close. Now everyone splits off into their DNI fandomholes and stays there.

I would love to be a Ponytown developer. Niggers pay you up to 24 USD a month for access to colored text and all you have to do is occasionally add some new art assets and maybe draw a small new section of map.
