Pokémon (Not-So) Griefing Thread - Scarlet and Violet Released with 10 Million Copies in First 3 Days in Buggy States
I disagree
Many other “fandoms” suffered the same exact thing and they were the furthest thing from Pokemon.
If anything it’s more like “2020 and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race.“
True, but in terms of Pokémon, Nappy was a 2010 plague. Big Yellow going from twink Bong talking about old gen competitive Pokémon to painting his nails, and then going full-blown faggot femboy to the point his videos look like a line of progression? Full 2020 and its consequences.

30th Anniversary set delays our Rayquaza set till like october, good for the wallet but god even the preview cards for that so far look like still just more months of Dragonpult till rotation. Even once rotation hits Mega sets have had very few actual good trainer cards that it's going to be even more janky for any without built in draw on the mons.
But it's ok they will reprint dogshit unplayable trash like this instead of Arvin or something.
This arena is cool and super powrful but 2 cards required ontop of the fact eveeryone is already playing 3 arenas per deck, really reading the meta hard with this.
Ages ago, in November 2024 I posted how I got a shiny Torchic as a starter after 10,000+ soft-resets. I wanted to play through all of Ruby with a team of shinies but was just a little too burnt out from the Torchic, I was doing something like 6 hours every day at the peak of the hunt, I record how much time I'm putting into a hunt so I know it took 55 hours 5 minutes of soft-resetting to get the Torchic. I don't remember when I started the hunt but it was maybe a month before. I also had three uncatchable shiny Poochyena too lol.
I've picked the game up again and started hunting for a Taillow on Route 116. Taillow has a surprisingly mediocre encounter rate until some of the later routes in the game, where you can encounter Taillow and Swellow together, but I want to play through the game with shinies, not play up to where I can get the best odds. So to increase my odds of getting a Taillow I've been using a repel with a level 8 for a 50% Taillow, 40% Zigzagoon and 10% Skitty on Route 116.
The drawback from this is that it takes much longer to get a single encounter. My encounter rate is close to 1/10th of what it normally is. To my understanding a repel in these games will only cancel an encounter, it doesn't change or re-roll the encounter into one where your opponent is at a level the repel doesn't apply to. I can easily use one or two 100 step repels before triggering another encounter, on average it's taking almost exactly 30 seconds to get an encounter, spend 10 seconds in the battle running away, then triggering another encounter.
On the 25th on encounter 3,222 I got a...
Zigzagoon, after 27 hours 21 minutes total hunting Taillow.
I would consider Zigzagoon's IVs mid, if it weren't for it's terrible Atk lol.
HP: 12
Atk: 0
Def: 26
S.Atk: 17
S.Def: 19
Spe: 27 Total: 101/186
Naughty (+Atk, -Sp.Def)
If my memory of binominal probability from school is right, it was about a 32.519% chance to get a shiny by encounter 3,222.
The Torchic from 2024 was actually really good, very good HP and S.Def. I consider anything with combined IVs over 120 very good because it gets exponentially increasingly rarer to get better IVs. It was about a 71.616% chance to get a shiny by the 10,316 encounter.
HP: 30
Atk: 17
Def: 23
S.Atk: 6
S.Def: 30
Spe: 15 Total: 121/186
Naive (+Spe, -Sp.Def)
I get that some people prefer only getting their shinies through pure luck, and that it means something different / special to them that way... but I would still recommend getting into RNG manipulation and finding your shinies that way.
You only have so much time in your life.

I think that's the idea along with printing smaller sets, not printing subsets, and not printing broken Trainers. They're waiting for WiWa to bring those back
Arven really doesn't need a reprint in the current format, it's one of the few cards that Pocket altered when it was transferred and I believe its effect is pretty balanced: You can get a random Item or a random Tool depending on a coin flip.

A lot of decks are running a Team Rocket's Petrel it's just an unfun card to play because of how basic it is and what its used for. It's not like many decks are playing tools anyway and the few that do normally are just air balloon.

RNG manipulation is pointless, if you don't want to spend time playing a video game then just hack it in lol. RNG manipulation is as satisfying as using PKHex but still takes up like two hours of your time to hit the right frame. The only reason to RNG manip is if you're on cart and don't have a way to dump/load a save. I think it's probably really unlikely that if you play old Pokémon games, you don't have a hacked 3DS or a GBA or DS flash cart to do this.
It's not like most people sit down and only "shunt", I'm usually either watching YouTube or lake fishing. You're repeatedly doing a mindless action over and over again so as long as your hands are free you can do it. I remember I got that Torchic because I was stuck in an office on-standby with my co-worker for the 2024 election for like 10 hours doing nothing.
I don't think anyone actually cares they're a different palette, it's because they're rare. I like thinking "I'm going to be here for an hour, I can churn through just over 100 encounters rn, maybe I'll get lucky". It's a nice little activity to do when you get home and you're winding down watching old KingCobraJFS vods too.

Is it bad to say I genuinely wouldn't even give a shit if he didn't stick the camera directly onto his disgusting troon face, painted nails, and hot topic dollar store choker for like 75% of the videos?
I come to your channel to hear and see things about POKEMON. I don't want to see your vain attempts to be a woman anymore than I want some right wing nut start quoting the Bible while bringing up Arceus viability in ubers.
And then it's really funny how Yellow and his little circle completely memoryholed Plague Von Karma, another troon, after... you guessed it! They were caught fucking around with kids.
And now Droomish is doing an impression of nails on a chalkboard because "I dont wanna be a boy anymore teehee :3"
I hate the "put the fries in the bag" meme but jesus christ I wish these people would keep their tranny bullshit away from their content.

I agree with your sentiment but I totally want to see that right wing nut for its own appeal. Can you imagine some rightoid schizo raving about smogon bans mostly hitting offense mons in favor of stall being an analog to the government creating societal distortions that encourage being gay? That would be awesome, and the reactions to it even moreso.

"Of course, with this ban to partial trapping, we can no longer consider Tentacruel halal for UU, and using him goes against the word of God. Inshallah, praise be to Snorlax."
Of all the people who demand that games have to be played a single way to be enjoyed (like Undertale, deltarune doesn't count because it ends up doing that itself), Pokefags really are a special breed when it comes to how allergic they are to any kind of documentation for their fangames. Despite having some more robust systems under the hood, its the most cookiecutter JRPG system you can think of, but a lot of these recent decomp overhauls end up changing a lot about the games than expected with added shit...and they refuse to give direct answers on what they do most of the time. Its usually either "play the game to find out" or "talk to this set of NPCs to get everything", all in the name of "reliving that childhood nostalgia of playing a Pokemon game for the first time and being surprised at what you see."
They come up with the most bullshit excuses to get away with their schadenfreude because they are just like what I say: they hate freedom of choice. They don't want you to have the choice to use or not use a guide to find something you really want. They want you to do homework in some cases since sometimes they can be really convoluted and think that any normal gamer would want to do things themselves, all for the sake of nostalgia pandering....or rather, their thinly-veiled understanding of what made those games special. Not to mention loving to see people suffer like its a pass time.

I'm gonna take a guess and say you're talking about Pokemon Monomyth? If so then I hope the Pokedex actually fucking works there, like giving you the documentation you need in there to catch 'em all.

Uh, powerleveling a bit but being in their Discord a while ago, I discovered it was gonna be after you beat the game in the battle frontier area, so you're gonna be like a baby with god knows how many adjustments in it with nowhere to go.
I was banned after being rude to them.
And also it basically goes to ANY game that does this shit for...who knows? Probably likely that they want to make Pokemon "how they remember it"/hard and relying on your memory, and insecurity over how good their game really is (they're mostly not, especially since they are largely fakemon-centric), to just doing it out of spite against actual gamers who challenge themselves. This era of Pokemon fan games is a very dark one ngl
