I saw this questi on Reddit.

Which hacks do you eagerly anticipate?
In my case, I look forward to the fully completed postgame of Unbound, v4 of Gaia, Monomyth, Coral, OceanBlue, Orange: Island Walker, Discovery, Ruby 2, Craditopia, Ancient Ruby/Sapphire, XY GBA, nd even Corundum, the 9-bit reboot of BW3G and Alolan Seaglass.
Most anticipated at the moment are what the NDS side of hacking is cooking; mikelan dropped Light Platinum DS demo 2, solid experience and excited to see what comes out of it.

Been around the GBA scene for years; Monomyth looks great especially since it came seemingly out of nowhere. Was pleasantly surprised when Pokemon Quartz got a revamp.

I wonder if Alolan Seaglass is gonna have shitty music like Lazarus did...

Speaking of Lazarus, i thought i'd try it out

I booted the game aaaand... the game forces me to play as a nigger. Instantly dropped it

I swear, each passing day romhack devs are getting more and more insufferable with MUH DIVERSITY crap

Did you try my dewoking mod? While the protagonist i still dark-skinned (since that somehow did not rigger my 'woke alert'), a lot of the annoyances are gone.

It was your version i started playing in fact. Congratulations on your work, by the way

It annoyed me because since the region is inspired in Greece, why the hell would they make the protagonist black? It's a growing trend among hacks now. Crystal Clear is one of the best 2nd gen hacks there is, i've been playing it way before the 2.0 BABY update. Something clicked on their dev team a little after that update, and each time they update the game, there's more and more brown NPCs around... Not even exaggerating it, the game looks like fucking Rwanda, like 70% of the NPCs are fucking black, it's ridiculous

https://youtube.com/watch?v=36yyrQTLKJE:983(Excuse me. All of the videos I found on YouTube had someone narrate.)

She also did that in the older hack Pokémon XG, but with slightly more dated Twitter hashtags, which was the style a the time.

Either way, all of that is perfectly on character with Lovrina.
I didn't take any at the time, but here's a couple I've pulled from the Discord.

And here's timestamped links to some guy who streamed his playthrough of it.
At the Cipher Lab
At Citadark Isle
Yeah this is pretty bad character assassination. Lovrina spoke with slightly exaggerated early aughts mall girl mannerisms but was otherwise actually intelligent so clearly she needs to be throwing our brainrotted ebonic Gen Alpha slang and twitter hashtags.

I should take that into account once I make my future dewoking mod. Since I am still playing the hack, down to trying to complet every mission, I am holding back the update until I am sure that I caught every piece of wokeness. Because of your words, I plan on adding an optional Qiaobi mod tha turns the protagonists white.

From what you may have seen in the Dewoking thread, that is also happening with Pokémon Polished Crystal.
I now orry abou the work that I would have to do with Crystal Clear... then agai, NPCs tend to share palettes, hence I feel that some are technologically simple fixes.

Eeyup. The whole idea, from what I see, is Lovrina giving a deliberately ditzy, stupid image that clashes wit her actual intelligence and malevolence.

TPCi finally does it, which is hilarious to see. The only thing that makes me sad is that they interviewed an 11 year old who pretty much said he was interested in flipping cards because he saw people on tiktok doing it. It reminds me of how kids are pretty much not allowed to have or enjoy anything that adults don’t fuck with. Like at age 11 I was trying to keep potpourri alive and play at locals, the collector side of the TCG is subhuman.

Erasing culture of the era to replace it with modern slop is bad. It is what it is and it should remain that way.

I don't mind modern slang in games to make jokes. In Digimon Time Strangers there is a Terriermon and Lopmon talking in zoomer slang to each other. It's actually pretty funny and works. But replacing an old time capsule with new stuff is erasing something from the game and in a years time it will all be outdated either way.

Kids are getting into TCGs through youtube. They want to open packs to open money cards not just play them. It's weird opening packs when someone wants to look up the value on ebay.

Sadly the majority of the TCG related stuff on youtube is people contributing to the monetization. There was a criticism of TPC’s decision that I felt was valid relating to Pat Flynn, aka deeppockemonster and pokerev. They banned selling slabs at TPCi events, but still invite these people to worlds. Pokerev, besides doing that faggot spy face in all of his thumbnails, also sells a sealed gambling service sealed repack product and Pat Flynn grew his brand through his gambling addiction and also shitty books he’s written. I always wondered why they would invite them to worlds events when they don’t even play the games. Perhaps not inviting them or any other youtubers involved in the monetization aspect would be another good move.

The 30th Anniversary set is going to be formally announced this coming Monday in Japan, hope for the best but prepare for the worst. That said it was previously announced that the set would be an all-foil set with each pack containing one of 30 Pikachu cards.

In more personal news I managed to score two Chaos Rising booster bundles in Thursday Night's Target drop despite having shitty cell phone service. I didn't pick up the ETBs because I opened my PC ones and I didn't pick up the Hop's Zacian ex box because Hop is just a terrible character.

I also noticed that the Archeops promo is slowly dropping in price from its original $200-$250 listings. Maybe when the price becomes a bit lower I'll get one as a birthday gift for myself.

A friend of mine and I chatted about this yesterday and we both suspect that TPCi banning the sale of graded slab sales, any products over $1,000, and certain Pokémon Center Japan products (with that last one being a potential misreport, some people have said that PCJ products like deck boxes and sleeves are fine) was done at the order of The Pokémon Company Japan.

I have no real interest in the 30th set, might get something for my nephew but thank fuck I can give my wallet a rest for awhile the next few set releases seems to be
September 16th - 30th Anniversary,
Pre-Orders July

November (?) - Mega Rayquaza Set,
Pre-Orders September

January (?) - Mega Lucario Set,
Pre-Orders November

I tried Celia's Stupid Romhack, and I really wanted to like it. There're a lot of Easter eggs packed in there, and the concepts are amusingly implemented.
Of course, it's tainted. Heavily so, and beyond repair.

My Poonerino learned Bind when it evolved. Not joking.

The Nidoran all have this cursed recolor as their held item.

Check this freak's hard drives, because no one who uses the term "egg" is innocent.
Anime child on the title screen, too.

Edit: Late to the party, but still disgusted

That coming from Japan explains a lot of it. There’s a lot of potential for crime when things start to get expensive and they’re just trying to curb a lot of that, especially with the amount of crime that’s been reported over the last couple of years.

There’s a lot of people upset about the 30 pikachus and the fact every pack comes with one. I don’t understand why because it’s the same group that throws out 7-10/10 of the packs they rip anyway.

Something else that’s cracked me up thinking about was this NFT retard getting angry about a target employee telling him there was a limit. Chances are that he doesn’t even have kids, scalpoids love to use that one to justify going over the limits or bring them as a shield to avoid getting hit. The replies didn’t go as planned for him, as it’s obvious that he wasn’t buying for this kids (the NFT avatar, .eth in username and posts of slabs were a dead giveaway). I wonder what will happen when the well for vintage dries up and the amount of modern printed begins to flood the market when they open the new facility. Can you expect a market crash or people dropping it the same way they did when the Pokemon Go set was released? Will these people move on to some other soon to be recession indicator?

The UK is having a lot of ram raids and break ins just to steal pokemon stuff. It's becoming a liability to stock it and some places don't list it online to avoid the risk.

This is becoming standard for all TCG sets. You can either buy a box or 4 pack max. It's quite annoying.
