I'm going to start going for walks in the morning and looking for things I can listen to. Audio books or podcasts. Any recommendations for current affairs and general politics? From a non-Progressive viewpoint, ideally but informed neutral is fine. Ideally I want something a bit more in-depth than just radio style people talking over each other. History and especially good fiction also appeal.

I noticed that the two who've just jumped ship from The Hill have started a podcast so might check that out: https://open.spotify.com/show/4Kbsy61zJSzPxNZZ3PKbXl

Question - how do people listen to these and what are the best apps? Android phone and I want to be able to download them in advance at home so they're ready to go in the morning first thing with no faffing. So the ability to queue them all up would be a plus. And the fewer ads the better - I am willing to pay money. (Ditto for audio books within reason).

The Nolan team based in Belfast are a group of journalists well used to asking awkward questions. This investigative podcast questions the BBC over its close relationship with the political lobby group Stonewall. We talk to a range of voices with a view on sex, gender and identity. This 18 month investigation has already had significant impact behind the scenes in major public institutions. The podcast is the story of how it all unfolded.

Tried to find a general thread to post this in
Found this refreshing- a Jew and a conservative Black man talking about how the media is incredibly biased, the political motives of faking hate crimes, the damage victim culture is doing to race relations in our America, calling out BLM, etc. I know I'll be sending this to my normie family members who won't accept the Rittenhouse verdict.

I am not a native speaker of English, but I like to listen to English podcasts to practise, right now this podcast is my favorite. Blocked and Reported

There is a Reddit page for this podcast, but there is much discussion of gender, so there is a lot of censorship, because Reddit do not really allow alot of that.

I was thinking maybe there are more fans here where we can talk about this podcast, without alot of censorship like how Reddit has.

Some true crime recs:

This is Criminal, a bimonthly, interview-based podcast that discusses all things crime and focuses on telling the story behind lesser known cases without much of a spin. A very chill podcast to listen to while doing chores or working. A good episode to start with is Unfit where a woman takes her mother to court for having her sterilized against her will.

The Nighttime Podcast discusses Canadian true crime as well as the supernatural and or just plain weirdos. He did a series of interviews a few years back with Lindsay Souvannarath, a kiwifarmer who got busted for planning a shooting at a shopping mall with her boyfriend who she met over facebook, and he's currently working on a series about the Nova Scotia Shooting.

Sorry for the nerco bump but I've really been enjoying Darknet Diaries. Which from the name you would think it only covers tor stuff but it has some great pen testing stories, ransomware stuff and other oddities.

I'm looking for similar podcasts any recommendations?

The History in the Bible podcast (episode list)

Admittedly, it is a very niche topic, but I find it endlessly fascinating. The guy who presents the podcast also sprinkles it with a lot of witty sarcasm and dry humor.
And no, it is not a preachy Christian slogfest. It tackles the topic from a scholarly/archeological/scientific point of view.

I really enjoy(ed) both the now concluded History of Rome and the ongoing Revolutions podcasts. Both are done by the same guy and are well researched.
Seconding both of these, and especially Revolutions. It hits a slump with the 19th century revolutions (especially the series on the 1848 revolts, which is just a confusing jumble of names and places), but then picks up again with the Mexican and Russian revolutions.

>Random rants about capitalists are evil while being obsessed with goosebumps and 90s consumerism
>They call the term NPC an alt-right racial slur in the chiliogy episode of the goosebuds podcast.
>Randomly go on defunding the police rants between talking about early 90s television children shows
>Childless adult men in their 30s crying, bad guys in 90s shows using slavery as a threat
>They call Salute your shorts homophobic because they think a child actor with a speech impediment is making fun of the gay stereotype accent
>Cries about Salute your shorts being alt-right because it has fat jokes
>Gets mad that kids in salute your shorts characters enjoy getting payback back on the bully character
>They call salute your shorts a bad show because it was just written for kids instead of adults like them like modern cartoons on Cartoon Network and Disney channel
>The only funny part of the podcast was one of the podcast members describing eating a $15.99 hot dog during a con an religious experience because he was starving all day
>They all think being hungry during a con counts as working class suffering

Is there such a thing as a good 90s nostalgia podcast? I can't find a Simpsons podcast with white leftist faggots being offended on behalf of people of color who never hang out with or even want to meet in real life. I guarantee every cuckhold in the goosebuds podcast would call the cops on random black guys walking just like white women who support BLM on Twitter.

Video Archives Podcast is the best damn podcast that will ever be made on the subject of film. That it's seemingly flying under the radar astonishes me because it's fucking Quentin Tarantino and his old friend (who also co-wrote part of Pulp Fiction) Roger Avary talking about the old movies they grew up with and had at the video rental store they both worked at before Tarantino hit it big with Reservoir Dogs.

I know there's contrarians who think Tarantino is overrated hell some thing his movies suck or are guilty of plagiarism. Well whether you feel that way or not no one can dispute the guy knows movies. Basically every two weeks they review 3 movies, usually a serious drama, a comedy, and a B-Movie. And then they just talk about it and both men have fascinating insights and talk about interesting behind the scenes details about the films. I tend to watch at least one of the movies they speak highly of and it's awesome because pretty much 90% of the films would qualify as deep cuts.

If you love movies you really should try this podcast. It's the highlight of my commute. It's just well produced and their enthusiasm is infectious.

Sorry for the soft necro but I'm wondering if anybody else has been watching any of Alex Stein Prime Time from the Blaze Network.

Alex Stein is a nut and usually gets a couple laughs from me, but I just hate his cohost Darius. He isn't funny, hardly speaks into his mic, and every time he's on Alex has to point out that he's black. Leave it to the jew, I guess.

Moreover, I get the feeling Alex Stein is an industry plant to make conservatives look insane.

I do not know the best place to mention this. I thought it might be somewhere in 'Information Technology,' but I couldn't find a thread that felt right. So, I searched for 'podcast,' and this thread came up. Forgive me if this is not the right place.

Anyway, the podcast "Security Now" I highly recommend to anyone interested in understanding cyber security, privacy and digital threats in greater depth. Also, if you prefer to read they upload the show notes the day before an episode airs which is pretty much read verbatim during the actual podcast.

However this might turn you off. On Tuesday, it was to my surprise that they mentioned the 4Chan/Kiwi Farms v. OFCOM situation and described Kiwi Farms as:
Kiwi Farms, established in 2013 by Joshua Conner Moon, functions as an online forum for
discussion and harassment. Initially targeting webcomic artist Christine Weston Chandler, the
site is known for organized group trolling, stalking, doxxing, and real-life harassment, often
directed at transgender individuals, those with disabilities, and neurodivergent people. The
platform has been connected to several suicides and has received criticism and service
terminations due to its controversial content and association with harassment.
I am disappointed, but I suppose I should expect this when the trannies and their manservants/handmaidens get to decide what's what on the Internet.

*sigh*

Hermitix
Hermitix.webp
Hermitix is a podcast focusing on one-on-one interviews relating to fringe philosophy, obscure theory, weird lit, underappreciated thinkers and movements, and that which historically finds itself 'outside' the academic canon.
The aim of the podcast is to allow autodidactic thinkers, amateur philosophers and the generally curious an insight into the work of thinkers who are often impenetrable to those outside of the academy.
With the discussions at Hermitix aiming to be informal idea barrages which attempt to retain the excitement of 'the fringes' without falling into the structural 'niche' pitfalls of the academy.

Some Recent episodes I enjoyed.

Is there such a thing as a good 90s nostalgia podcast?
No. "90s nostalgia" is most likely Hollywood kike shit. You are what you consume and if peoples whole career and content is related to this kind of entertainment, you are a lefty faggot. How did they become insufferable mutt supporting cucks? It was literally by watching this shit from birth.

What you are seeking doesn't exist.
