Edit for clarity: this is a thread to post 100% plant-based food/meals/recipes (devoid of animal products) a vegetarian thread already exists here.

I know it's hard, but t'd be amazing if the meat-eaters of this forum could refrain from coming here and posting "steak haha", but I'm not optimistic at all in that regard.

I hope other vegans here get to share some recipes they like.

Lentil lasagna is one of my favorite dishes, but I don't make it very often. I found this recipe and I'd like to try it, although it's a little different from the one I usually make. She uses tofu as a replacement for the beschamel, I've always made it with beschamel and vegan cheese.

as long as it isn't pretending to be meat there's a shitload of vegetarian stuff that's great

I actually kinda like the Tofurkey brand imitation hot dogs. Just the regular flavor though, I don't like any of the seasoned ones. I tried them on a whim when I was living on the cheap and they went on sale, because they were "less bad" for you than actual hot dogs. They taste absolutely nothing like a hot dog (not sure if they are supposed to) and the texture is different, but I found that it paired well with some quality mustard and dill relish. Every once in a while, maybe once a year or so, I'll still buy a package of them and make them how I used to a long time ago.

Fuck Unmeat though. I don't know what that shit is but it's vile. I eat a lot of Spam (low sodium at least) and a can of Unmeat was like 20 cents more than Spam so I figured I'd give it a try since it's again not as bad for you as whatever Spam actually is made of. It did not cut like Spam, it did not fry like Spam, and most importantly of all it tasted absolutely nothing like Spam. Not even close. I put it on toasted bread with some melted colby cheese and it did little to mesh with everything else. It just tasted of wet cardboard and it overpowered all the other ingredients of the sandwich. I could not finish it, I just tossed what was left.

Unmeat, and its partner Tuno (vegan tuna), wound up getting sent to the clearance rack at the grocery store here and nobody bought it. It was there for literally almost three months and had been marked down to the point where it was 90% off and only then did the cans start to slowly disappear. Or maybe the store just cut their losses and chucked them, I have no idea.

If veganism is so great why do they always try to make their food taste and look like meat? I've never heard of anyone try to make a steak taste like a head of lettuce.

Vegan diets are cringe and the worst part is that 90% of the people who say it's healthy eat the most processed shit.

Admittedly I love patties made from shredded beets.
Beets are amazing in terms of nutrition. I'd love to love their taste, but I like them better in certain ways (I can eat them if someone makes them boiled, I'm not a picky eater, but I'd rather have them in other ways, like shredded and raw with lemon juice and nutritional yeast in a salad or on toast)

potato pancakes - great and greasy, you can add sugar and it becomes a desert
beetroot - peel it and it's ready, crunchy, slightly sweet, good for your bitch-ass pathetic grass eater blood and cheap as well
you can also eat salt raw, maybe buy yourself a salt lamp and lick it when you get hungry
not many fancy options man, if you want to eat plants just eat them idk what recipes you're looking for just eat your vegies man the fuck you want

Not vegan, but I love vegetarian food. One of my favorite snacks to make is agedashi tofu, deepfried tofu with a dashi-based soup.

I also love Vegetarian couscous-sallads and soups and stews like Борщ
You can get so much variety

Red lentil Stew is one i make all time.
1 Onion
4-5 Garlic cloves
Oliveoil
2-3 cups Water
Veg bullion or soup base
2-3 potato
2 carrot
400g crushed tomato
1-2 cups red lentil
Half a cup of Milk, cream or coconut milk
Salt and black pepper
I Season with chiliflakes, garam masala, cumin, curry and cayenne. But you can use whatever spice you want.

1. chop and fry onion in oliveoil until glazy( in a pot)
2. Chop garlic and add, let cook for 1 min
3. Chop, or mandolin potato and carrot and add. I like cutting them into thin sticks or chips.
4. Add crushed tomato and spices. Countinue cooking while stirring
5. Add water, bullion, red lentils. Let cook under lid for about 10-15 min.
6. Add coconutmilk or milk, salt and Pepper. Turn down heat and let it cook for another 10-15 min or untill potato, carrot and lentilsare cooked.

I like eating this with white bread and a lemon-yogurt, but it is also great for a lunchbox.

Also, my mums couscous sallad, I like to make it for bbq, but sometimes I also make it for lunchbox.

-2-3 cups of couscous
-A bouqet or hanful of mint leaves
-Some leaf parsley
-A bag of leaf sallad, like baby spinach, I like mache
- oliveoil
- lemon
- about 200-300g of strawberries
- 150-300g of feta cheese ( i like cheese so I usually add a lot)
- almonds

1. Cook couscous
2. Shred mint and parsley. Mix mint, parsley, sallad and couscous.
3. Crush almonds, not too fine. Add to the sallad.
4. Drizzle with lemon and oliveoil
5. Cut strawberries into smaller pieces, and cut or divide feta. Add to sallad.

Let me take your line of thought further. There seems to be this common delusion that these primped and juicy and supremely edible fruits and veggies that you see in modern grocery stores were just laying around everywhere in caveman days. In reality veggies and fruit actually from nature are as a rule shit. You think eating meat is dangerous. Try spinning the wheel to see if a random plant will kill you. Chances are best they taste like garbage and at worse nope, not just death a slow painful death or maybe it cause your kids to grow retarded over the years due to some subtle deficiency or toxin. Only by slowly turning a bunch of them into ridiculous mutants over thousands of years, building up a modern industrial base and developing advanced nutritional science and technology to both make sure that we have enough of a variety not to kill ourselves from malnutrition or lack of variety does a lifestyle resembling modern veganism become possible. They think veganism is natural but in fact it is one of the most unnatural food cultures around requiring a throughly modern post industrial infrastructure to support it.
