The two places I have visited that I was happiest with were San Antonio and San Diego. Both are very pleasant and pretty. San Antonio is nice around the Riverwalk, which is where I was at for most of the time. San Diego is nice in general and has lots of good museums. The climate is consistent, the city is colorful, and it's not a shithole like the other major Californian cities. I would prefer to live in San Diego if I could live anywhere, and if the Californian Question were resolved.
