Theres two reasons why she did this:
A) Attention and her fanboys going Noooooo!, she thinks she can pull this off because
B) She thinks homosexuality is a choice and she can just become a lesbian because she can't find a man to love and respect her.

Funny story, I'm friends with my first girlfriend. She's bi-sexual, but repressed her lesbian side because of her family. When she moved out she made up for lost time as it were and is now in a relationship with another woman. When I found this out she was surprised at how supportive I was. I simply asked her if it was OK that I tell people that I was just so manly that no other man would do it for her and had to change teams. She thought it was the funniest thing ever and gave me her blessing to tell people that.
