I agree, I feel that even though she seems to have a ton of confidence, she has to be afraid of the rejection because it would really cut deep considering how much she idolizes Japanese people. I really wonder where her confidence ends. What are her legitimate insecurities? I can assume a few but I wonder how much they truly bother her. This is one I think she probably thinks about frequently.
 
It has to destroy her, being just smart enough to know that her dreams are unrealistic. but dumb enough to not change.

I think she does think Japan is really like the TV shows and movies. She would probably have a breakdown if she saw the real Japan wasn't like her fantasies. It's going to be like that sitcom bit where the people book a hotel based on a beautiful brochure, only the room is half the size, the bed is too small, the bathroom door doesn't open all the way, the window opens to a brick wall, etc. Only this would be real, and lead to hospitalization.

Pixtyeri is none of these things, and few Japanese people would accept her as one of their own, not even the cosplay girls who hang out in cafes ( I believe cosplaying as anime/vidoe game characters is more mainstream there?)

Cosplay is not as mainstream in Japan as most people think. In America, the worst that can happen to a cosplayer is being called a weirdo maybe there's worse, I don't really know while in Japan, you could get harassed. I heard a naive weeb got stuff thrown at them for it. There's a reason why Comiket highly encourages cosplayers to change in the locker rooms.

I actually don't. I know this sounds mean but this hygiene problem has been going on for a long time. She is what, 28 or 29, she should damn well know better about personal hygiene, and she believes that washing her hair makes it lighter. I don't blame her mom for yelling at her, pussy stank can be pretty nasty.

She most likely has been taken advantage of in the past, but I think she sets herself up for this sort of thing. I read about an instance where she went to some dude's house without wearing any panties and asked the guy and his friends who were there at the time to have sex with her.
