How the hell is something that I download for free funding terrorism
I -think- what they are trying to do is compare this to how back in like the 90's you could get Disney movies for cheaper from some shady fuck on the street and said movie was just some faggot recording the entire thing on his camcorder in the movie theater so you could hear shit like crying babies and people getting out of their seats while the audio would sometimes be muffled to holy hell. Apparently buying anything from them was considered illegal because those same people were part of some gang or crime group.

Anyone know where to find the complete Wild Roses season 1? I can't find downloads and Amazon is charging $100 for half a season.

If watching pirated streams fund terrorism, tell the sports leagues and streaming cartel to lower their prices.
It literally never occurs to these faggots that their anti-piracy messaging can result in people just saying "fuck it, I'm not paying for it and not even going to try to watch it anymore, fuck your shit I'm out" and opting out entirely.

The last time I was in a movie theater was when they genuinely tried that "You wouldn't download a car, would you?" I have never set foot in a movie theater since that day, specifically because of that insult (and many other actions and laws, of course). Fuck them. FIFA wants to try to drum up excitement in Americans for their "product" but act as draconian as the NFL and NBA do concerning streaming? Fuck 'em. People are walking away from the NFL's and NBA's bullshit too. FIFA's no different and we can do just fine without it too.

StreamEast is ran by some flavor of Arab people. I think they're Egyptian if I remember correctly. You can pay for premium for more site features and some pay walled streams. Those Arabs can in turn use that money to fund extremist groups who can then buy weapons from the CIA and film ISIS beheading videos.

I'm too lazy to explain how the Russian government receives money from piracy but it's basically similar. Money comes in to Gruppa A, money goes out to Politik B, eventually funding the war in heckin Ukraine!

Instead, you should pay for PeaCOCK+ and ParaMOUNT+ and HomoBO MAX+ and Disney+MAX ESPN Grogu Meal Bundle with Ads so you can watch gay shit like Heated Rivalry and LA Dodgers Pride Night game brought to you by Mistr PrEP.

If you're paying to pirate you might as well pay for globohomo streaming services.

Anyone know where I can pirate the latest version of a... uuuhhhh... popular paid camera app for Android that can shoot RAW video? Name starts with O. Says in the OP I can't name specific things. I don't know if I should take that post seriously.

World Cup: 1,400 illegal streaming sites lose ad revenue in piracy crackdown / [A].

Nearly 1,400 illegal websites streaming unauthorised 2026 FIFA World Cup matches have lost access to advertising revenue in the latest crackdown on digital piracy, as authorities and industry groups intensify efforts to disrupt illegal broadcasts.

The Athletic on Tuesday reported, “Nearly 1,400 illegal World Cup streaming sites have had their advertising revenue cut off as part of the wider fight against digital piracy”.

This latest blow to pirate operators was orchestrated by the Trustworthy Accountability Group, a non-profit established by the global advertising industry to combat ad-related crime.

The action comes just days after the U.S. Department of Justice seized nearly 400 sites streaming pirated World Cup content under “Operation Offsides.”

According to The Athletic, the move aims to starve these illicit platforms of crucial revenue streams, making it harder for them to sustain operations during the ongoing 2026 FIFA tournament hosted across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Illegal streams have proliferated as fans seek free alternatives to official broadcasts, which often come with high subscription costs or geo-restrictions.

TAG’s intervention targets ad networks that unwittingly or otherwise fund piracy through placements on these sites.

By cutting off this financial lifeline, authorities and industry groups hope to disrupt the economic model that allows pirate sites to thrive, even as legal viewership options expand.

The crackdown reflects broader concerns over intellectual property theft in sports broadcasting.

FIFA and official broadcasters have long battled unauthorised streams, which undermine multi-billion-dollar rights deals and potentially affect the quality and funding of the game at all levels.

Online reactions to the development have been mixed, with many football fans expressing different views on social media.

“The World Cup belongs to the world, all games should be universally available, FIFA must be dismantled and replaced with a body which prioritises sport over money,” #weirdfigs posted.

Another user, #Kingsmaniq, commented, “This World Cup has been so strict with streaming and other things. Making it boring.”

With authorities monitoring emerging sites that attempt to fill the void left by those disrupted. Fans are advised to use legitimate platforms to support the sport and avoid risks associated with illegal streams, such as malware or legal repercussions.

The 2026 World Cup continues to captivate global audiences, but the battle against piracy underscores the challenges of balancing accessibility with the commercial realities of modern football.

No more terrorism funds for them, I guess.

You know, sling has a very sensible pricing if you don’t want to pay by the month. You can pay by the day or by the weekend. I did this to get my SuperBowl fix with goyslop commercials. But you know who it pissed off? It pissed the mouse off because it vIoLaTeS carriage deals term. Dunno what that means but I guess fuck anyone who doesn’t want to pay per month for streaming and wants to pay for a couple of days or weekends to watch their favorite team

Yeah, that's exactly why "fuck 'em, I'm never paying them a cent ever again" is the correct response. They fucking hate us. They want a literal pay-per-view model (the 1990's DIVX format was their first card-tipping of that ultimate goal) for everything they make, or more accurately, everything they claim via copyright while other people actually "make" the "product" that actually does the entertaining. If they could squeeze us for royalties for humming a tune, they would. If they could squeeze a fee out of every replay of every clip of every exciting moment in a hotly-contested sporting event, they absolutely would.

In terms of sporting events, they fucking hate local bars who "put the game on." They've even floated ideas to stop private citizens throwing super bowl parties and the like (IIRC they've actually tried in the past to fuck with a few people, but backed down when the obvious, inevitable overwhelming outrage blew up in their faces) because they think they're not getting enough.

We've allowed copyright law to get well out of control and a far cry from how Rome treated entertainment (i.e. a state-sponsored social necessity) and entertainers in general (i.e. as slaves and whores). Fixing it involves convincing the population to stop paying for copyright-encumbered shit and seeking alternatives (good fucking luck) then shooting the copyright cartel goons who start agitating with propaganda and lawfare, but we'll never see that in our lifetimes.

We see this exact same shit happen with video games and their various anti-piracy measures such as DRM systems like Denuvo, games being always-online so you need to have an internet connection to play, and invasive kernel-level anti-cheats also drive away some players from playing a game.

Sadly, the video game industry hasn't reached the crashing stage yet from people voting with their wallets against those systems, as there are still people that willing still play those games even with those said anti-piracy measures that only screw over paying customers.

Truth. On the plus side, that crash is coming, and it looks to be coming soon. There have been substantial layoffs and massive failures in the past few years, and Xbox are laying off (rumored) up to 35% of all first-party studios' employees and axing "Game Pass," Bungie just nuked their cash cow (Destiny 2) in favor of its mutant offspring Marathon (which is actively flopping as a GaaS offering, with fewer than 8k steady players, which is dreadful for a live service multiplayer-only game). All the console makers have jacked up their hardware prices amid a massive downswing, and Sony have all but admitted their "no one asked for this" PS6 is going to cost almost 1.5x as much as the much-maligned Steam Cube (already being ridiculed for its announced price).

I think the gaming industry will eat shit before the rest of the entertainment industry does. It's only a matter of time now, as they've really grabbed hold of the "chasing the live service dragon" shtick and aren't letting go, and it's just not sustainable. There will never be another Fortnite, but the whole industry is convinced that's the only product worth trying to emulate. I give it 2 years. It'll be a miracle if the PS6 actually launches. My "long shot" bet is that Sony will exit the hardware business (if not the gaming business entirely) before they actually launch a PS6. It's not much of a long shot bet to openly wonder at this point whether Xbox will even exist as a brand in 2 years, not with the way Microsoft are waffling with it lately.

What I don’t get is why don’t they seriously try portables? We reached a graphics plateau like two or three generations ago and Nintendo has had immense success shoving a PS4 into a tablet. People go on about “oh do you not have phones???” But phones are a 24/7 communications tool and you can’t have it sit with a dead battery half the day. The portable PCs are doing okay and that’s even with the problems of Windows 11 and a UI mishmash holding it back.

For what market? If you desperately need Nintendo, you're buying the Switch 2, and if you want AAA/PC sorts of titles you're getting the free to tinker with Steam Deck or one of the many other portables that are around. What are you gonna do, try to woo people with the-

-25 PS5 exclusive titles? Honestly, if anything, their best chance is to make a Xperia Play Android phone sequel, with all kinds of PlayStation paint and extra features and such on top of it. Just a phone when you want it to be but easy to make it a gaming system. Take advantage of better battery life because ARM. Bet that would sell despite Android's famous app piracy being a thing.

With Western countries becoming more and more crime infested, releasing a handheld would put a giant "PLEASE KILL ME" sign on your head.

My favorite was probably when a TV would turn off video or sound upon detecting DRM-less streams. A little pop-up would appear at the bottom of the screen during playback, saying something like "this content appears sketchy, fuck you".

EDIT: ChatGPT says it's probably Cinavia:

It wasn't exactly made by Sony, but it became strongly associated with Sony because Sony Blu-ray players, PlayStations, TVs, and many other licensed Blu-ray devices implemented it as part of the Blu-ray ecosystem.

Instead of looking for a pirated file directly, Cinavia embedded an inaudible watermark into the movie's audio track.
Compatible players continuously listened for this watermark during playback.
If the watermark indicated the content wasn't being played in an authorized context (for example, a ripped Blu-ray on a USB drive), the player would intervene.
Depending on the situation, it would mute the audio after several minutes, stop playback entirely, or prevent copying.

An on-screen message appeared over the video, usually near the bottom, such as: "playback stopped. The content being played is protected by Cinavia™ and is not authorized for playback on this device… Message Code 1." or "audio outputs temporarily muted… Message Code 3."

People often encountered it when: playing a ripped Blu-ray from a USB stick, watching a downloaded copy on a Sony Blu-ray player or PlayStation, or burning a movie onto a recordable disc.

A lot of users were surprised because the video might play normally for 15–30 minutes before the audio suddenly disappeared or playback stopped. The delay was intentional and became one of Cinavia's most criticized features.

If your memory is specifically of a black bar with legal text quoting license terms, there are a couple of other possibilities: HDCP, which blocks video when the display chain isn't authorized, or AACS, the Blu-ray encryption system that works alongside Cinavia.

Holy shit, that kind of garbage would go straight back to the retailer with an impolite "fuck you cunts" note in the box for the manufacturer to see. Obviously defective.
