Physical: 100 is a South Korean reality competition series on Netflix created by MBC producer Jang Ho-gi. The idea of the show is that they take 100 different athletes from different disciplines (powerlifting, CrossFit, mma, ect) and put them through different challenges, to eventually find out who is the best overall athlete with the most well rounded set of skills. The 1 winner got a large cash prize,

Season 1 and 2 were set only in Korea and featured Korean athletes of varying levels of fame.

Season 1 had the likes of Yang Hak Seon (Olympic gymnast) Yung sun Bin (skeleton sledding) Yoshihiro akiyama (mma), best boi Jo-Jin-hyeong (car dealer), Dustin nippert (former mlb player and tolkein white guy). Season 1 was very interesting and entertaining because you had no idea what to expect, and you weren’t sure how the different challenges would play out with people’s different skill sets.

Season 2 was again, Korean only and had some even bigger names, KimDong Hyun (mma fighter), Jung Ji-Hyun (Olympic gold medal wrestler), Lee Won-Hee (Olympic Gold medal judoka), Park Seung hi (Olympic gold medal speed skater), Lee Hyun Jin (actor), Amotti (crossfitter and YouTuber). Season 2 seemed to take it a step further by inviting several high level olympians into the fold and other big names across the Korean fitness sphere. The competitors in season 2 had a better idea of what to expect but the producers kept it fresh and came up with numerous new challenges to keep the competitors on their toes.

Season 3 if you could call it that is a more regional challenge, inviting several “Asian” countries to compete in a large team challenge where the winning team gets a large cash prize to split. The countries included are Korea (obviously), their eternal rival Japan, Mongolia, Thailand, The Phillipines, Indonesia, Turkroachland (why?), and Australia (again why? Not Asian).

This is the thread to discuss the show physical 100, whether pass seasons or the current ongoing season of Physical Asia. New episodes heir on Tuesday at 3pm eastern time on Netflix and seem to release in multiple episode batches. I figured this would be a good time to make a thread since their is an ongoing season. It’s my favorite show currently and I would love to discuss it with anyone interested.

If there was ever something to shut up the people saying women can compete with the men it's this show,
It’s funny, I go on Reddit and tik tok after the physical Asia competition and there is a ton of soilents crying about how Dong Hyun Kim (team leader and mma fighter) of Korea was a masogynist who discriminated against his female teammates. My wife is sensitive to such issues and she agreed with me that those ppl are retarded or she would’ve called DHK out. DHK understood the strengths and weaknesses of each of his teamates, which is a big part of why Korea won, on top of being packed with individually talented individuals. In each season there’s not a ton of women who advance out of the first few challenges.

Lol that's both the same and opposite of Korean social media. Donghyun was shitted on, but that's because of his personality (Sungbin is a belovwd national treasure but too introverted to be captain).
While for the women it was why the fuck are they even competing on this show.

I tried watching a couple episodes of the first season but couldn't get into it. The thing I found most interesting is that every single one of the contestants received an introduction with voiceover and everything. A western TV show would skim over the people who don't survive past an episode or two and focus on a smaller group of contenders to craft a narrative that would be easier to follow.
