akemi is like in a field farting around or something and then like a guy trys to maim her for whatever reason and then shades all like "get rekt" and kills the dude and then its like exposition for 3 pages
 
I can totally combine all these suggestions so I'm gonna do that and they'll flow pretty well together.

again, i'm late to the party. i was offline for a while.

hmm, well i do have a suggestion - let's pretend you're doing it on paper (i'm really assuming you're drawing it directly onto the computer) - be sure to do a rough layout of the whole environment and roughly lay out all the "actors" and "props" from start to finish of the issue/episode/story/whatev, and gradually refine and finish it all together. if that makes sense. like kind of a systematic/assembly line approach. helps to level up all your drawing skills evenly and prevent the "characters are in the foreground and everything else is just the background" mentality.

Perhaps you could add a love rival who is a total bitch for the readers to hate on for getting between sweet, innocent Akemi and whichever guy she hooks up with and is, like, soooooo mean to poor Akemi? If you haven't already, that is. I think she should be the total opposite of Akemi, to make it easier to hate her.

EDIT: Ooh! Ooh! Bully group!
 
actually a funny occasional gag is maybe have a character just suddenly start spouting off expo and there's a bigass wall of china of text that just leaks over all over the place, and the other characters go wall-eyed and numb from all the blabbering

revenge of phil is this a warriorcats au comic thing because it totally could be and should be because warriorcats fanworks are hilarious
(got nothin against the series except the authors' failure to keep their own canon consistent with itself but the fanbase is ridic)

Gotta love the cover you made Phil. As for how it starts, I would of said maybe put in a cliched convoluted prologue that involves some cliched prophecy or story of some evil lord and his fog but I'm too late for that party. Maybe use some form of this as a type of exposition later on?
 
When Slash shows up, can he act like an Alpha Male, Bad Boy, Asshole (basically, what the Loveshies think women want)?

Oooh, that'd be good. I kind of hope it'll be be sort of Edward/Jacob sort of thing where both sides are utterly unlikeable dickheads.
 
I'm extremely late to the party, but holy fuck this is amazing.

You should have your comic start out with Akemi returning home from a happy day in the meadow and finding her parents being killed by a vicious pack of wolves or their home burning down or some shit. 12 year old fanfic writers love to give the protagonist parents that tragically die for no reason as an attempt to make you feel sorry for the character.

If you want to make it even more cliche, make the wolves have completely black fur and give them soulless white/red eyes.
