Personal Army Request - Seeking people experienced with statistics, data gathering, Python scripting, and/or web development
@AltisticRight and I are trying to gather analytics on Nick's website, cozy.tv. So far we have a way to get viewer numbers on a regular basis using a bot, but I feel there has to be another way to do things. One of my goals is to try and measure chats/minute compared to viewership of different streamers on the site. Gathering the data is only one piece of the puzzle, we have to also analyze it in order to search for any oddities. We will be working here if you are curious and/or interested in contributing.
Fucking finally, tbh.
I have data analysis experience, feel free to reach out.
Personally, I want to see the engagement of different chats compared while considering viewer count. My thinking is something like: Every time a bot collects data to calculate engagement, it also attaches current viewer-count to the observation.

Sounds like flawed methodology from the get go. Even if Nick’s viewership participation is statistically significantly different from another one of the members of the website, all you may be proving that they’re different people with different content styles. I’m willing to bet if Doug Doug, and Narcissa Wright had equal viewers, Doug Doug would have more interactions because he actively encourages/incentivizes viewers to interact with him. If Pete’s viewership was compared to that of a knitting channel, he would have higher engagement bc people actively try to fuck with him. I’m sure there is a correlation between viewership and interactions, but I doubt it’s a strong enough relationship that you could make any meaningful conclusions from those two variables alone.
you possibly could? i tried connecting to the websocket url using nodejs but ended up just 502'ing, to be frank i don't know much about websockets and how they work exactly but with the right amount of header fuckery you could connect
