Are you a Windows 11 user? Do you use its widgets feature regularly? Well too bad for you, there is a permanent pride flag proudly displayed right on it!

Wanna remove it? Go ahead, try to right click on it to get the option of removing it or whatever, it won't do jackshit. The only way to get rid of the pride flag from your Windows installation is by getting rid of Widgets entirely. Right from official reddit page:
At this time there is no toggle or other setting to remove this icon. Currently all you can do is either ignore the icon, not use the Widgets panel, or uninstall the Widgets panel entirely.

If you want to uninstall it, that can be done using PowerShell/Terminal ran as an administrator. Right click on your Start Button, you should see an option for PowerShell or Terminal with (Admin) at the end, pick that. Run the following command:

Get-AppxPackage *WebExperience* | Remove-AppxPackage

Now Windows 11 also has the linux to troon pipeline enabled permanently.
W for BSD users yet again.

Any luck if you set your region settings to the Middle East?

Hello all. Due to many uncivil and rule breaking comments this post is going to remain locked, however we know people are coming to this subreddit for information, so we will try and provide that here anyway.
:story: Tranny-jannies gonna tranny-janny.

Just like the special globohomo event icons that appear in the search window on the task bar in Windows 10.

My Linux desktop might be less immediately convenient, sure, but at least it doesn't force me to display ideological flags every time I use it. Get fucked Windows 11 lmao

I never use widgets so I would have never known it was there, but now I've seen it all I can think is that's actually a pretty shit flag... It's not vibrant at all. Just kind of bland and washed-out, like it's lost all it's energy. It's there because it has to be, it's June, not because it wants to be there. Windows secretly based? lol, no

The last good version of Windows was 7, and that's the last version that will ever touch any of my machines. I've used 10 and 11 in work environments and they feel like you need a dose of PREP to go near them. With Steam dropping win 7 support, I'm using Linux as my daily driver now.

Because there's no better way to endear yourself to your critics than to forcefully shove the symbols of their ideological opponents onto their personal devices and prevent it from being removed. Surely this will get those nasty MAGAt Drumpftards to love the gays now!

It's nice of Microsoft to remind their users that Windows 11 is for faggots.

Win10 LTSC 2019 ftw

Friendly reminder that Microsoft did the same thing on Windows 10 but with the Search toolbar. If you use your taskbar for anything else besides having a spot for your currently opened programs you're a faggot. Mine doesn't even have a Start button because I use a keyboard launcher all the time.

Also, Win11 taskbar is such a step backwards it's hilarious. They just slapped on a new taskbar that's even more bloated than the Windows 7 one, but with no option to change the icons to be smaller, AND no option to move it anywhere besides the bottom of the screen.

However there is a way to bring back the Win10 taskbar because of how fucking lazily they've implemented the new one, in the traditional Microsoft fashion they just slapped a new thing on and hid the old thing but didn't remove it completely.

In a way it's funny how badly MS wants to take away freedoms for you but their decades old NT codebase is the sole thing that's stopping them from accomplishing that because Windows users constantly find ways to fuck up whichever bullshit Pajeetsoft came up with this time around.

Not just any new taskbar, they basically repurposed the one from Windows 10X, a yet another failed Windows project that nobody cared about which was created around 2020 and got cancelled not too long after its development.
In fact, almost the entire UI of Windows 11 is lifted from Windows 10X with minor tweaks. This just screams laziness like nothing else.

Among the first things that I do after re-installing Windows 10 is disable the search toolbar and replace it with the search icon.

You should completely throw that out, disable system file indexing and use Everything instead. It's much faster and much more powerful. I've bound it to Ctrl+Shift+S, so whenever I need to find something I just to a quick keyboard shortcut, type out what I need to find and I find it instantly.

I also don't use the start menu anymore, I do everything via Keypirinha, which is way more efficient once you get used to it. If I want to run my browser, I just press Alt+Space, type "vv" and press Enter. Less than a second and it's opened. And it has other useful features like quick calculation, quick translation, unit conversion and so on and so forth, it's expandable via plugins.
