Assimilation is way too strong in EU5, entire regions can be easily converted. Greece is constantly filled with 100% Catalan/French locations. 2 good proposals I've seen for helping nerf it is make it require control and make it harder to assimilate the smaller the minority is. Maybe accepted/tolerated cultures should be protected from assimilation?

I don't see how you could assimilate regions with low control, so I think required high levels of control before you can assimilate pops is the right way to go.
Question for everyone: What year have you made it to so far? Did you get bored? Thoughts? Who are you playing as?
CK2 take over.
Trying to reform Lothringia in iron century. Meanwhile ai forms French HRE with my cadet branch in the middle of a sunset invasion, cunt stole half my lands too. How is there even a French HRE? Using HIP mod.
Also Eu5 players can you form Germany from Denmark or Netherlands?
Finally grappling with EUV. Booted up England and promptly got smacked by the Hundred Years War. Lol.
Now learning with training wheels firmly fixed as Portugal. Something not clear to me: how important is fulfilling goods in the market vs just building whatever the game tells me has the highest profit? (Portugal is fairly cool tutorial nation here too. Starts in an economic crisis because its a poor shithole in 1337.)
A very minor nitpick I have with the game is that it has an event where an art work can be declared heretical and damaged, reducing its quality. The problem is that I just got it as Poland for the Bogurodzica, a Catholic hymn. Maybe art works should have a check for if they're religious work of the state religion to protect them from this event?
Decided to start a new Holland game, gonna try and go for Guelders so my provinces are connected and have higher control, and I just noticed this Ver archivo adjunto 8138230
How do I use this "population expulsion" mechanic?
Ask this redditor. He found a solution for Holland's Jewish question. I found out that events that Central European countries get (like Hungary or the Teutonic Order) are the reason why some locations in Germany get depopulated. Periodically, they get an event to invite German settlers in exchange for ducats, and you can get either 499 settlers per month or 999 settlers per month for 48 months, depending on your choice. That means you get to steal either 23952 POPs or 47952 POPs, depopulating the original location as a result.
Idk gang the longer I play the more I feel like this games early start date and such is really bad and that the game needs some serious work.
I play at speed 3-4 (Mostly speed 3) and my current game has been about 12 hours now and I am only at 1397. France is just completely tearing apart Europe and I (as scotland) just keep beating England in wars because the ai cannot do anything. Early wars (I am only at 1400 basically so early I suppose) are all just levies so the smaller nations just stand no chance.
Its also worth mentioning that as much as I hate Vicky I wish they just stole the economic system instead of this one. If I am going to spend 90% of my time outside of wars looking at a ui to increase profits at least make it somewhat readable and such.
I did find a setting that makes the map not a tilt but flat looking top down and I would rec. switching to this. Units and shit actually lines up with provinces and it completely hides the awful unit designs.
Last complaint the UI never explains why you should upgrade your towns and shit. I didnt even notice the option to do so at first. When I hover it tells me nothing other than the cost so I have no clue what this "Provides me".
Im so tired boss
Also my music is either broken or the game has only 3 tracks. It just keeps doing the YEAAAH AHH YEAAAH chant song over and over.
A 41% (ACK!) game speed boost was found. In this video implementing it reduced the first year in Lord Lambert's game from taking 68 seconds at speed 5 to 40 seconds. It does fuck up the frame rate though but when wanting speed that's irrelevant. Trying it myself in a save in the 1500s I can confirm that it really speeds it up. https://youtube.com/watch?v=PYdZZNKwX1k

This post is going to be very autistic, but I think that Paradox outsourced the localizations of the game to subcontractors that used machine translation. I play the game in English but I decided to check out the Polish localization and man is it really bad. It's full of grammatical errors as well as very inaccurate names, these are very basic errors to make so I doubt that any Poles were involved. Krolestwo Francja is grammatically incorrect and is equivalent to Kingdom France, the proper term to use would be either Krolestwo Francuskie (French Kingdom) or Królestwo Francji (Kingdom of France), this error is all over the map Sultanate Osmans and Sultanate Jayalrids
"Kastylijska Szlachcice" for Castillian Nobility/Nobles, feminine singular adjective combined with masculine plural noun. Correct term would be "Kastylijscy Szlachcice"
This is my favorite fuck up that I've seen on the map. "Lord Republika"???? It's just straight up using an English word as well as nouns instead of adjectives. The correct terms would be either Republika Nowogrodzka (Nowgorodian Republic) or Republika Nowogrodu Wielkiego (Rebublic of Novgorod The Great) Inflancka (feminine adjective) Zakon (male noun), it should be a male adjective to match the noun and they should be swapped in position to be Zakon Inflancki.
So, with all of these errors they should've gotten at least Poland right, right?
"Polish-Lithuanian Community of Nations"
Polish-Lithuanian is a modern term that wasn't used historically in reference to the country, and it was never referred to as a community of nations but as a Commonwealth (Rzeczpospolita) and the term is exclusive to Poland. The correct terms to have used would've been just "Rzeczpospolita" (The Commonwealth) or "Rzeczpospolita Obojga Narodów" (The Commonwealth of Both Nations)
What the fuck??? Now here it uses the correct naming.???
Idk if anyone has checked the reddit for euv or paradox but I am convinced these are all either jeets or bots lmao. People are praising non stop things such as "Learning how to handle control and trade!" and are ECSTATIC that it is taking them 10+ hours to cross 100 years of game-play.
This person should be shot. They are everything wrong with modern gaming. "This is just like my gooning sesh bruh!!"
22 hours to play 100 years in a game that takes course over 500 years is fucking bleak man. Edit: I just re read it and realized he said 22 hours of playtime and he is at 1360! Less than 30 years!
It won't let me edit my post sorry for double posting so fast. Just learned that if the AI has favors on you, they can just FORCE you to do something. France (My ally) just forced me via favors to join a war against Castile Hungary England Bohemia and Denmark. I never got a popup other than "France has forced you into war"
That seems mega fucking dumb imo. I guess I get why since its favors but I have 25 favors and 200 relations, I cant even deny?

I have been having a similar problem with my idiot PUs, where they will just drag me into some nonsense I can't be bothered to deal with, despite having every centralization of union. I wish the diplomacy centralization one also blocked war declarations, given they are supposed to have the same diplomacy!
