I'm not sure I agree. Dio brought a far more operatic style of vocals to metal that now has it's own sub-genre called Operatic Metal with bands like Nightwish and Lacuna Coil.
Although Dio's style influenced that sort of thing, so did Rob Halford and Bruce Dickinson and a number of other BNWOHM bands. The Symphonic metal thing is more of a crossover from trash and extreme metal in the 80s, most famously Celtic Frost using french horn and woodwinds on To Mega Therion.

Dio is probably more notable for Hear 'n' Aid.

Ronnie James Dio was a big asshole and a much bigger asshole than Ozzy because he meant it when he called the half of Rising he wasn't on "self aggrandizing shit" Ozzy would only say mean shit in the heat of an ongoing argument. You could tell by the way he talked he was very narcissistic. That's the kind of person you turn into when you're bullied for being too short while being raised by a tough dad

If thats true, then fuck that faggot, those bands are pinnacle shits and clog up every metal festival with their tepid, middle of the road rock songs larping as metal.

Black Sabbath had the most productive breakup. Ozzy could channel his cokehead energy on the Rhoades-powered solo albums, and rest of the Sabbath got new wind in their sails from Dio's more diverse vocal range.
