In the Aeroplane Over The Sea
I cannot fathom why it is included in so many lists of people's favorites, I've been told on forums before that it's the meme quality of it and that's why it's so prevalent online but to me it sounds like the indie elevator music they composed for Scott Pilgrim Vs The World. It's a fine example of how I find it hard to determine if people actually like it or it's an instance of irony-poisoned performance.

Anything by Green Day or RATM. Instrumentally both bands are more than competent but I just can't stand the vocal styles on either band.
Pop punk is a crime against humanity. If I have to listen to “safe” punk like either of these two bands again at the record store I’m going to fucking blast Boyd Rice.

Boyd is a national treasure. Not only is his music great but in interviews you can see he's a really intelligent and funny guy.

I do like some pop punk but I tend to go for the more lo fi indie stuff or emo stuff. I just hate Green Day because I think the vocals are super annoying.

I shut it off when that nasally faggot started wailing "I LOVE YOU JEEESUS CHRIST." Irony poisoning doesn't even cover the cringe there.

The Antlers "Hospice" was mentioned to me this summer, I hadn't thought about it in years, so I checked it out again, and it has aged worse than I thought possible.

In Rainbows by Radiohead

First, it contains several songs which had been written years and years earlier. Basically, the slop from the floor which didn't make it onto their previous albums.

Second, it sounds like it was recorded in Ed O'Brien's shed, unlike their previous albums which had that cool, crisp sound that mega space rock bands should have.

It has two excellent songs; Weird Fishes and Jigsaw. The rest made me want to be an amnesiac. I've often wondered if their giving it away for free was in part because they knew it was an insult to their fans' ear holes.

This Band/album was astroturfed to no end but I also blame this album for giving us all those shitty garage rock revival bands from the early to mid 00's

I can never say this out loud to black women who love this woman, or to terminally online/social media-based music critics that love rap music too much just to fit in for today’s standards, but I’ll say it here:

This time this last year, I listened to Lauryn Hill’s debut album and I can honestly say that this is the most overrated album for a debut rapper/singer and I keep questioning why this kept getting forced and certified as the greatest rap album of all time. Even for bringing awareness to the fact that she can rap, sing and do her own music, I still don’t believe that this album is as great as people try to say it is.

I would love for anyone on here to prove me wrong, but I genuinely think that this album was the one where you could not say a bad thing about it, and you’re supposed to like it because it was made by a woman.

Surprised no one's said Reign in Blood yet. The agressive nonstop pounding speed was already done by german thrash bands and Bathory's debut album, people can only name 2 songs from said album, and yet it's hailed as this masterpiece of thrash metal.

Discipline by King Crimson is a good album but honestly. Many of the songs on there are kinda mid.

Tarkus by Emerson, Lake and Palmer. Again amazing first song but the rest of the tracks are mid (except Bitches Crystal).

Chappel Roan's The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess is fine but nothing too groundbreaking.

Thank you for posting this, now I have an excuse to autistically Stan for this album.
I guess KC is most beloved for "In the Court of the Crimson King" but I like the 80's Adrian Belew white boy soulful voice, and Juicy Mustache bearer Tony Levin on the Chapman Stick era (the Stick opens up new ways of using rhythm).

"Elephant Talk" - great groove and lyrics that are in the spirit of this website

"Frame by Frame" - beautiful song, the live Vroom Vroom version almost brings a tear to my eye (Bruford uses electronic drums that sound oh so satisfying)

"Matte Kudasi" - Nice chill song, good vocal melody

"Indiscipline" - infectious groove and funny lyrics

"Thela Hun Ginjeet" - cool bassline, les claypool does a good version of this

"Sheltering Sky" - nice hand drum (i think?) percussion, but I'll give it to you on this one, it's a mid-tier filler song

***"Discipline" - wonderful mesmerizing poly-meter cycles with incredible complexity but still sounds musical. This guy does a great breakdown - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Url45xNNWLs
-FYI If someone is new to poly-meter music, it can take a while for it to click. I had to listen to the song "Autonomy Lost" by Meshuggah on loop for literally hours and hours for it to click for me, and that is with being proficient at funk bass guitar. That's probably the simplest song I can think of that uses it well. It will help to focus on the lead guitar tremelo part, as that is in 4/4. There are instrumental/8-bit versions available if you find the weird bald man yelling at you to be unappealing. I've found this endeavor to be well worth the effort, as it is very psychologically (and spiritually, if you believe in that) grounding
Also this: The back cover features the statement, "Discipline is never an end in itself, only a means to an end". The original front cover features a variation on a copyrighted Celtic Knot design

Everything by Kendrick Lamar. I don't get how anyone can like his voice, he sounds like he's trying to talk while sneezing, like an even worse Lil Wayne.

In The Aeroplane Over The Sea. It's a fantastic album but I think people are way too dick sucky over it.

Pinkerton. It's a good album but gets more praise than it deserves largely due to it being overhated when it came out.

Lorde - Pure Heroine. I loved this album when it came out since it was very refreshing for the pop scene at the time. It's still a great album and her best imo but it's aged - not like milk or wine but like a glass of water on your nightstand. You'd still drink it but it tastes funky.

Grimes - Art Angels. Overrated by new fans and creatively bankrupt. She complains about music execs only liking her for her sad music then makes sad music the following album. It's homogenous hyperpop and I cannot remember a single song off it. I sperged in another thread about her earlier work. Visions is a close third.

Crystal Castles - self titled. What is this, 2008? It was creative and new for the time and maybe it's just me having listened to them since then but it gets old quick. II was alright, III was a snoozefest. No one gives a shit about Amnesty I except for Fleece. I hope Ethan Kath anheros.

MCR in general. They have maybe 2 songs I will still listen to once every few months when I remember they exist.

Death Grips - Exmilitary. It's a good album but they have better ones.

Black Marble - It's Immaterial. Love the album, it's one of my favorites of all time. A Different Arrangement is like the neglected older child who does all the work though. It has more listens on spotify but I only ever see people talking about It's Immaterial.
