As selfish a decision it may be, I see it as an definitive option for the current times since from my perspective a lot of people (friends and family mostly) live in this sense of desperation more than comfort or genuine happiness in the west.
It seems like people are clinging onto living just because they are too secular to ever think of anything more significant after death, they don't take a secured constructive moral development to make sure they live fulfilled and grateful as opposed to various stimulations and materials which are easier to be tamed and controlled by, or simply, death is such a scary thing to be confronted with; they will avoid any thought of it. The latter by all means is understandable, but i certainly can't see myself being mentally broken and enslaved by desire and consumerist hedonism as reasons to keep on waking up everyday. Even if the idea of no heaven or hell may be driving me anxious.
Might as well say fuck it and just end up eating a bullet and becoming a Hermann Nitsch art installation if I'll never be content with my existence to actually die a well natured person or even able to enjoy long term successes instead of the short term gains people normally want you to obsess over.
