Shad was able to hide his own pedophilia by using his shocking edgelord persona as basically a troll shield. The men are told to wait outside while the birth is going on. The wife’s cries of pain tend to cause a lot of men to either pass out, panic, or get aggressive. So it’s easier to just send all the men out in the waiting room while the birth is happening. It’s the same logic as “go boil some water”.

It used to be the case decades ago, and it's depicted as such a lot in older media, so I could see the confusion. If Google's right, it wasn't until the 1960s where that changed.
