Raise your kids on older media and they will have no problem sitting through a show from the '90s with the 4:3 aspect ratio. Netflix already has the entire older series on its platform, no issue.

But yeah, "money" is always the reason.

People conflate this as a dishonest motivation, but in reality it’s the most honest there is. Where things have gotten murky is that modern works whose motivation is money get undercut by putting out a low quality product. One Piece is on the downswing and Oda’s intentions for the series conclusion is for it to be bigger than ever before, it’s only natural for everyone involved to try and capitalize on it as much as possible.

There is also a fact that this is a chance to clean up the early anime's pacing issues.

Curious to see how much cut content there is if they're trying to fit 100 chapters into 5 hours. Can't imagine it's going to cover everything if they're trying to keep it ADHD-compliant

Idgi, why would you watch the Toei anime in the first place when the manga is better because it has no bloat? You will get through most of the material faster anyway. Just watch the anime for the big fights.

so with what we know about gunko/shuri now the thing im wondering now is was the queen in on it the whole time? or is this a case similar to kumas story where ginny gave herself to the celestial dragons to protect the country but left later on? also it would seem gunko/shuri has special eyes that imu wants for some reason. since it seems like imu is able to control her better than everyone else im guessing shuri and gunko are two entirely different people in the same body and imu was able to control the gunko half. similar to cavendish and hakuba.

also is about time luffy got a punch in. so what are the odds that punch is the best hit he gets on imu?

I’m willing to bet this is the only hit he gets on Imu because Oda doesn’t want people to connect the dots too early, and because he wants Luffy vs Imu to be a big deal if happens in earnest. As it stands, this may be the same as that punch on Charlos, which also means that the finale will be Marineford 2.0 looks more likely.

And how would that be done? Marineford started out with Ace scheduled to be executed.
my theory currently is that imu is going to reveal himself to the world and maybe even decide to take out every island until only mary geoise remains. whatever happens its gotta be something big enough that everyone joins in to help just like whats shown on elbaph.
Luffy is going to be executed!
this happened once already but the idea of luffy being captured after getting the one piece and everyone being forced to come together to save him sounds interesting and would definitely solve the issue of luffy being the answer to most major problems in the series. plus i can imagine sabo being the one to save him so in a way its like ace saving luffy this time.
