I just found out about something called the "omegaverse" while at first glance is just gay porn a lot of hilarity has come of this because people (particularly femcels) insistence on that it is MORE than just faggot porn. For whatever reason people seem to be clamoring to prove on how this is either "complex social commentary on queer oppression in a heteronormative world" OR "horrible smut that promotes patriarchy and rape culture through toxic masculinity"

The omegaverse is a porn genre where sex and gender ARE actually different things in a very literal sense. one is determined by outer sexual organs and one by inner sexual organs. These are reflected by personality traits. essentially there are alphas (chads), betas (normies) and omegas (wimps) and the omegas can get boy pregnant and have butt babies. its all very stupid the Omegaverse Wikipedia page is a very funny read. I highly recommend it. whats remarkable to me is how these overly complex rules seem to span across thousands of fanfictions at this point. Searching for this stuff has brought me much amusement.

I don't know if that's so true - before stuff like Pornhub existed the place to go for smut on the internet(which was then still referred to as the Information Superhighway or the World Wide Web) was Usenet's alt.sex.stories.erotica and its offshoots.

These could later be read in archived form on Deja.com or Google Groups (After Google bought Deja), and that shit was definitely written for, and wanked to by, both sexes.

Note: This obviously doesn't apply to all of it - alt.sex.stories.gay and alt.sex.stories.lesbian are cases in point.

PS: I don't know if that stuff is still accessible on Google Groups, they have a tendency to remove material they don't approve of (alt.drugs.hard got its whole archive deleted "because the group's admin bricked his hard drive" and this somehow affected Google's copy).
