Could never get into Vikings, too amerimuttised even from the very beginning, far too much filler; Last Kingdom however flies through years every episode;
DESTINEH IZ OOORL!
It got made into neetflix TRASH last few series but still manages to be utter kino, how does uhthread (son of ohtred) Lord of bubbleborg do it?
Shout out to Hæsten the based; RED HAIRED WAHMEN!

I keep hearing about Last Kingdom but never watched it because I was burnt from Vikings. Maybe it's the better series?

Objectively, it's based on an actual series of books that unlike AGOT are actually finished so it doesn't go to shit half way through.
It was started as relatively modest project so the actors are all proper bri'ish ones/imported quality Scandinavians barely a merimongrel in sight, even gets much better production value after series 2 when it got dropped by the BBC for some reason, this was around the time that Netflix buying everything was it's peak, so they threw a lot of money hiring an entire medieval village set in Hungary/authentic props etc.
Oh and in the entire show there is exactly one brown person, a swarthy bLACK Arab throwaway background antagonist, otherwise? ytest show you'll ever see made this century.

The only cathartic thing at the end of the Vikings series, was seeing the Viking Witch lady get ass mad about some Danish Kings unironically Christianizing.

I really empathize with Bishop Heahmund of all characters, a man of God who likes his ladies, I can relate.

Binge watched seasons 1-3 for the first time this past month. I am now midway through season 4 and wondering whether there's any point continuing.
It was good-ish for the first three seasons. The ahistorical parts were tolerable. Only thing that got on my nerves a bit was the constant "pagan good, Christian bad", but I guess it was to be expected.
I'm wondering if I should keep going because the show really seems to be going downhill from season 4 onwards. Any semblance of faithfulness to history goes out the window. You have chink princesses, junkie Ragnar, brown turbaned Muhammads hanging out in Scandinavia, faggot kings and a distinct lack of decent characters to root for anymore. What's more, I hear that around this time the show ramps up the woke shit even more and goes all in on the girlbosses. So yeah.

tl;dr: I'm half way through season 4. Any reason to keep watching?

It was never historical in the first place m8, it's got 9th century Saxons discovering the advanced technological magical wonder weapon that beats viknagz everytime is... the shieldwall, there's a whole Rocky training montage in series one all about it.
Because it was always retarded, just becomes a bit more so later on, but it veers back to less dumb towards the end (major emphasis on based patriarchy being a major plot plot), just gotta enjoy it for the tasty slop that it is.

Yeah, well, I wasn't crazy enough to go into it expecting it to be. It was tolerable because it was just stupid entertainment. But when it got beyond the already grating "pagan good and right, Christian stupid and wrong" it became too much. My biggest gripe with it is dropping all the little sensible details that made it different from your regular TV slop (stuff like needing interpreters to communicate instead of magically understanding each other after three days, using actual training swords instead of real weapons when sparring, etc).
It's also yet another case of the show getting too big and courting the LGTVHD+POC audiences for DEI bucks. What I liked about the first three seasons simply isn't there anymore. Time to move on, then.
