Do you (and everyone else in the thread) think that it'll always be a cycle of different faiths replacing each other or there'll be a point when a majority of population picks up atheism?
For example, about 70% of Americans consider themselves religious, what do you consider more likely to happen at some point - 70% of Americans will switch to Voodooism or something like that or 70% of Americans will be atheists?
Also, if you think the future is mostly/predominantly atheist (I mean both individual countries and the world as a whole), how will it be achieved? A good chunk of populace will decide they don't feel like being religious (like how atheism has grown in the West) or it will be forced from the top at a gun point (a-la USSR, Socialist Block, China, Anarchist Catalonia)?
I do think that people will always have some sort of superstition they believe in, yes. I can't imagine voodoo becoming popular though. I could see a mix of Neopaganism, Buddhism, and a vague sort of Spiritualism with vaguely Christian elements gradually overtaking Christianity among the American populace.

Richard Dawkins recently spoke with ex-Muslim, ex-Atheist, Christian-convert Ayaan Hirsi:

I found it mildly interesting how she pretty much offers zero arguments in favor of Christianity besides wishy-washy emotional bullshit (edit: you'd think she'd know better from her years as an atheist). Dawkins, in almost nostalgic fashion, was able to get in a lot of good dunks. The colossal faggot of a moderator asks him some retarded questions and gets dunked on as well.

TL;DW

AH: Christianity makes me feel warm and fuzzy!
RD: Don't care, this ain't about your personal comfort, bitch.
mod: but richaaard are you saying she can't find truths you haven't???
RD: At best it's a retarded hypothesis, shut up fag.
AH: But atheists aren't givin me warms and fuzzies!
RD: Good. Atheism owes you nothing.
mod: but richaaard you said you're a "cultural" christian, don't you regret how you and other new atheists have hurt christianity???
RD: No. I care more about the truth. Eat shit.
AH: But what are atheists offering to the heckin' culture wars where wokies are supporting Islamic terrorists?!?
RD: Rational, Secular Humanism *mic drop*
mod: but richaaard that's not pushing back adequately against the woke mind virus!
RD: Then push harder *mic drop*
AH: But western morals came from Christianity!
RD: The same morals we use as a basis to cherry pick the morally acceptable parts of Christianity itself? Take your meds nigga 😂
AH: B-But the Quran is a lot worse!
RD: God crucifying his son to absolve humanity's "sins" is just as disgusting.
AH (her brain breaks): Well God gave us fReE will! (...???...)
I'm making him sound way more based than he was, but you get the gist.

The debate ends with Ayaan sperging more about Atheism not doing enough to combat wokeness (hence Christianity! ba-dum-tss) and Dawkins more or less responding with (I'm paraphrasing) "Your solution to the problem (Islam/wokeism) is a more dilute version of it (christardism), but I'm not making any compromises". Ayaan actually looks bewildered by this, lmao. They hug it out afterwards and seem like they're still on genuinely friendly terms.

Islam caught so many strays during this, it really shows how irrelevant Christianity is now.

Dawkins is okay, but we all miss him.

Chill Egyptian atheist makes hosts lose their minds just by chillin' and saying what he thinks

This new fad of "let's become Christian to own the Left" is nonsense. I would like to hear what God fearing Christians actually think about Ayaan Hirsi Ali and Jordan Peterson.

Ayaan is a cultural Christian, nothing more. I doubt she believes in any of the supernatural claims. She just returns to the comfort of "Christian culture" whenever questioned on the specific dogmas. It's bordering on dishonesty and just makes her appear extremely ungenuine. She's drifting slowly towards Jordan "it would take me four days to explain the resurrection" Peterson; who comically flails around with his word salad responses. His discussion with Sam Harris was like watching somebody try to nail gelatin to the ceiling.

How about we just call out bullshit when we see it. If being offended wasn't rewarded, and instead laughed at by more people, we might be in a better position. Just take the old Hitchens line when somebody says they're offended: "I'm still waiting to hear what your point is." We need one bullshit man in every room to set the world straight.

let's become Christian to own the Left
>Let's become a Christian to resurrect my political career after a sex scandal.
>Let's become a Christian to resurrect my floundering political comentator streaming.
>Let's become a Christian to because we are a JUDEO-Christian nation and we love the nation of Israel.
>Let's become a Christian to cope from the fact that I'm a denthead who fails science class, so it's all bullshit anyways.
>Let's become a Christian because I'm forced to by my congregation even though I want to bang whores and do coke.
>Let's become a Christian because my small brain cannot comprehend behavioral morals without an overbearing imaginary father watching your every move.
>Let's become a Christian because Odin is just too cringe even for me.
>Let's become a Christian because I think I'm important enough to have the most omnipotent being ever watch and care about everything I do.
>Let's become a Christian because I'm a soldier and I have to be loyal to GOD and country, even though I'm a murderer and a gross alcoholic.

I guess I could keep going.

Any of youse ever heard an argument from suffering proof? Like, we all suffer which gives meaning to temporary reprieves from toil and suffering, which means God exists?

One major weakness with Ayaan Hirsi IMO is the fact that she's an ex-Muslim Somali woman with a traumatic past who found a better life in a Christian-majority nation. I'm usually very warm towards the ex-Muslim crowd, a lot of them are based and will bring the heat against Islam that most people won't/can't, but many of them also fall into this trap I'll call the Refugee's Remorse which basically starts with "I was taken in by a Christian-majority nation, who am I to shit on Christianity?" and can lead to "who am I to even reject Christianity?". It doesn't help that Christians are constantly bombarding them with bless-you's and Jesus-loves-you's which probably hits them on a deep, emotional level after all the trauma they endured from a Muslim upbringing. When Dawkins said "Yes, Islam is very nasty religion, but Christianity isn't all that nice either. For instance, it's obsessed with the idea of sin", Ayaan responded with "I think it's obsessed with love", which I found very telling. The famous George Carlin quote ending with "... but he loves you!" comes to mind.

An ex-Muslim atheist half way into this transformation process right now is Ridvan Aydemir a.k.a Apostate Prophet. He's a German-born Turkish American who's currently the biggest ex-Muslim anti-Islam Youtuber, recently hitting 500k subs. He occasionally orbits Destiny (the cuck, not the game) but is mature/smart enough to avoid pointless e-drama. Dude's channel is purely geared towards deconstructing Islam and tearing down the ummah, which again, I have nothing but respect for. The problem is, motherfucker has a huge Christian fanbase constantly love-bombing him with "bless you AP <3", "Jesus is working through you AP <3", "I'm praying for you AP <3", and so on. Two possible reasons for this are: 1) he almost never attacks other religions and has a Christian-friendly track record, and 2) he frequently collabs with anti-Islam Christian man David Wood, with whom he assuredly has significant audience overlap by now. I actually like David, he's fun to listen to and he never comes on to preach when collabing with AP, focusing on Islam instead. However, as AP keeps getting warms and fuzzies from Christians, he keeps expressing pro-Christian sentiments, which triggers even more love bombs, and so on - it's a deadly feedback loop that keeps pushing him towards Christardism.

And ever since the war in Israel broke out, hooo boy. Like, okay dude, I support Israel too because they're a free, civilized, developed nation fighting 7th century barbarians and rapists, but WHY are you slapfighting Muslims on twitter over whether or not the Talmud is just as bad as the Quran? Your Bible-guarding was bad enough, now you're simping for Judaism too? Nigger you're an atheist, why do you need to die on this hill???

I thought it was pretty fucking bad when he (recently) gave an impassioned speech about how Judeo-Christian values have been the "light" of civilization, but holy shit was I wrong.

As it turns out, his wife recently converted to Christianity.

He has already been spiritually cucked.

Can't say that I have, although it sounds pretty silly and random. Same level as "have you seen a tree?" or "how do your lungs even breathe???" followed by "that's proof of God!".

"Because when we gather to celebrate the death and resurrection of the most powerful being in existence that was a Judean rabbi from shithole Bethlehem in the Roman Empire thousands of years ago, we have a better dress code so it's more true. Also, the Old Testament is head canon in our LARP fanfic because reasons."

The association of atheism with "neckbeards" and fedoras isn't a very good argument against atheism.
In terms of rhetoric, it's a somewhat more complex version of calling someone stupid and ugly. That can be funny, when it's done well. However, it's not actually a good argument.

:neckbeard: The GIF is great, tho. Makes me smile every time. Though, the underlying implication is quite true too. Just because you are an atheist, it doesn't mean you built a great life or are a good person. And sadly, and I think this applies to streamers in general, many have an exhibitionism fetish. Like TJ Kirk. Really dude? Oil in your ass and shoving a banana? On camera? Just being an atheist doesn't make you cool or mature.

Edit: I want to add up a bit on why people like TJ rub me so much in the wrong way. Part of the central argument in religion is not the actual facts bit. It's the moral part. The most pervasive religious argument is "How would you know right from wrong if you don't believe in God?", "If you don't believe, what stops you from becoming a rampant degenerate?"

It's a completely wrong argument, but then you have someone like TJ who plays directly into that argument. You'll say to someone "I'm an atheist", and then they'll be like "oh, so you are like that TJ dude. See, I'm right in believing." So TJ by being such a degenerate, has harmed atheism regardless if he had successfully won 1000 "religion logic" debates.

You're still thinking about the fight(s) you had in the "Is BP ruining site culture" thread, aren't you? I mean, I mostly agree with your sentiment but way to make it obvious, dude :story:
Not really. I've thought of those threads as being masturbatory for a while now. That thread was just where I decided to express my beliefs.
