the olympics is supposed to celebrate the beauty of the human body. If all the shots were goonerific closeups i could see it but the examples they used are mostly just action shots and you can't always time those to get a "proper" angle

The widely distributed graphics summarising the new recommendations are not an accurate reflection of the recommendations. The illustrations are intended to illustrate recommendations but without the context of the recommendations they are misleading. The recommendations are not that "dynamic" shots shouldn't be used, the recommendations specifically recommend shots that show the full dynamic action rather than one part of the body. The pole vault for example, the recommendation is not don't show the body it is show the whole movement over the bar. The misrepresentation of the recommendations is just more outrage for the sake of outrage.

A few days ago, an idiot over in the Feminism discussion thread tried to dismiss the original article as "sharing individual horror stories of things we don't like to further our narratives". The BBC have today posted a follow up article with the response they received to that earlier article.

Fifty women tell BBC they were pressured into having sex with strangers

Six women told BBC News they had been raped by men met through the site.

One said her partner had forced her to have sex with more than 90 men through FabSwingers. On one occasion, he held her down by the ankles, she told us.

Sixteen said intimate photos of them had been uploaded to the website without their permission.

One woman said, had she not seen our reporting, she "probably would have had sex against my will literally this evening. This has been my situation for 12 years now." The abuse will take place "no more", she said.

Another woman, Emily from Derbyshire, said she had been pushed into going to a swinging club while pregnant. "That was my baby girl," she said of her daughter. "It feels awful that I mixed her up in it."
