The recent Black Lives Matter protests causing phrases like "being not racist isn't enough, you have to be anti-racist" and "silence is violence" to enter the mainstream and mobs going after celebrities who don't promote Black Lives Matter have made me wonder if we're heading towards a culture of obligated political action.

Imagine a world where you get in trouble at work for not showing up to last night's BLM protests.

What do you guys think?

Nothing new to be honest. As much as the red scare was a huge meme (and far more justified than BLM), it was essentially the reverse of this situation where if you were not anti-communist you were communist. Black and white thinking will always be the way of morons and sheep, and morons and sheep will always show their true colors during times of great change.

At a certain point, a country is so ruined that it's not worth trying to fight for it any more. Obligated activism is one such point. If it starts being dangerous or illegal not to worship saint Floyd or whoever their scumbag criminal martyr of the week is I'm taking my wife and leaving this country to burn.

People will always make some point about not being able to run forever, but using that as an excuse to drown on a sinking ship is stupid. Sometimes you need to swim to shore.

We're already there, it doesn't have to be enforced by the government or anything, just a sufficient amount of people to steer the culture.

I don't know what other Kiwis' experiences have been in the last couple of months but on my very normie, previously unwoke Facebook feed I started to see black friends talking about how they wanted every white acquaintance on FB to voice support for BLM and then "educate" their "racist" family and friends. Most of my friends who took the bait were wave riding white women in their early to mid thirties. Shit I was used to seeing screenshots of on anti-SJW subreddits or here were popping up daily from people in my life and it was eye-opening.

If it's penetrated far enough for me to see it I think it's already part of the larger culture.

Imagine a world where you get in trouble at work for not showing up to last night's BLM protests.

It's like some Chinese cultural revolution type bullshit. It even has denouncements and struggle sessions.

The moment I can't play my race or physical impairment or cultural dissonance cards as a shield from all this insanity is the day I pack my bags and just become an english teacher in Laos or some other south asian country. I'll even take Japan/South Korea and their culture than this bullshit. Hell, I'd rather move to fuckin' Argentina or Eastern Europe.

"OMG YAS, I WANT TO MOVE TO LE HECKIN' BASED, REDPILLED, AND TRADITIONALIST ASIA/EASTERN EUROPE!"

They're not getting as much support as they imagined, so they're resorting to threats and intimidation to get people on board. People respond poorly to coercion though, so it's going to fall apart when enough people get away with telling them to get fucked.

Doesnt obligatory political orientation / action directly contradict one of the US' founding principles, that being freedom of speech, and thus, freedom to abstain from orienting with a political party? The whole "if you're not with us you're against us" line of reasoning only ever gets used by cowardly powertripping faggots and dictators. I mean it's not like the people that think like this are all for freedom of speech anyway.

South Korea is an authoritarian technocracy. Japan is basically perpetually stuck in the 90s and is slowly delapidating. Everything is expensive and space is hard to come by.

You want to go to neither of those places.

so in the end, Argentina.

or sth. Idk I'm not a fan of the cold. It seems like the Californian fruits and nuts are swarming to the rest of the coastal areas in the USA and are actively trying to make the non-coastal/non-great lakes areas irrelevant.

Czechia isn't completely ass, although it's pretty ass. The US is still the greatest country on earth for the time being.
