Yes and no. It's less intentionally inflammatory; calling someone a Nazi means you think voting for Trump puts them on the same moral level as goose-stepping thugs who murdered millions of people for no reason. Calling someone an NPC implies you question their ability to think for themselves. As @TheGreatCitracett stated it's just an edgy way of calling them sheep which only took off because SJWs freaked the fuck out over it. Two years after the fact, mind.

The main difference I like to point out is that NPC isn't being used to silence people and shut down debate and discussion like Nazi, incel, cuck, libtard, etc are.

Very true, politically the NPC meme could go either way. The left so far has just failed at using it in a funny way, or decided to screech about it being evil, racist, or whatever. My favorite part is that people are getting so worked up over something so goofy.
