EU Now: Armed police operation at the synagogue in Trondheim - The police are deploying additional resources at the synagogue in Trondheim.

– We are investigating suspicious behavior at the synagogue, the police write in the police log.

A person is reported to have left the scene in a vehicle and police are now searching for this vehicle.

– I can confirm that there is an ongoing police operation at the Synagogue, says Jon Arne Moen, leader of the Jewish Community in Trondheim to VG.

– The situation is unclear, that's all I can say now.

Adresseavisen has spoken to a neighbor who tells of a large police presence with bulletproof vests, helmets and guns.

A journalist in the local newspaper reports that there was supposed to have been an event in the synagogue and that no one is allowed to enter or leave the area that has been cordoned off.

The police have previously announced increased security at the synagogue in Trondheim following the attack on the American embassy in Oslo on March 8.
