People complain about how bad the economy is but always seems to have plenty of money for doordash and these kind of toys.
Those people are single and childless, most of the time. They're the reason stuff like this is also more expensive, because it's not longer for kids.

So in the latest clip I have seen it looks like the Greeks are fighting European knights from the late 1400s, what the heck is going on with this movie?!
The promotional posters has them fighting Cylons or robots. Looks ridiculous.
I had to check this out to see what you guys meant.

Nolan: "What the Bronze Age needs, is more stainless steel."

Also, I have to ask for those who know the Odyssey better, how old is Telemachus supposed to be? Because Tom Holland is 30 years old, long since a man. He should be king himself in his father's absence by now and not need to be worrying about suitors for his mother taking the role from him. Oh, I see from Wikipedia much of the book is Telemachus searching for his father abroad. I guess that may explain it. If he's not at home for most of the movie. Still, I have a hunch that Telemachus would not be expected to be 30yo.

It's been about a decade since I read it but I believe he was born after his father left for war so they have never met, hence his mother having to hold down the fort.

That would make sense, so he's around eleven years old at the youngest when Troy falls, Odysseus takes ten years to make it home? Okay, I semi-retract this as Tom Holland is one baby-faced fellah and can play a 21 year old.

Completely off-topic, why do Americans say "Hold down the fort"? We just say "hold the fort". Are American forts inflatable or is it just very windy there?

It comes from the Civil war where Gen. Sherman ordered Gen. Corse to "Hold Down the Fort" in the face of Confederate attackers until Union reinforcements could arrive.

Shove your Hollywoke tranny jogger slop into your unwashed fat ass.
My giant fat body will be plopped into my seat munching popcorn at the very first showing for this at one of the finest IMAX theaters in the country. The film is gonna break records. Meanwhile you’ll be crying at home about “slop”. Nolan never loses, bend over and take his cock as the dissonant music overpowers the dialogue, faggot

Nolan: "I removed the gods because I wanted a more grounded and realistic version of "The Odyssey" and such supernatural elements clashed with that vision."

Also Nolan: "I had Odysseus square off with the Space Marines in full armor for my realistic and grounded version of an epic set in 1200 B.C.E."

It is an important point that Penelope promised she wouldn't remarry until Telemachus grew a beard, because that would mean he's a man and he could rule. I guess the idea behind was that she would have a man to protect her, but this man wouldn't be King. Unless he's a late bloomer, he couldn't be older than 13 or 14. I dunno how old you should be to rule on your own, but the beard was seen as becoming old enough to be considered a man.

Putting chronology aside, the story starts with Telemachus traveling to find his father, and I guess he was likely 14 or so, still young enough to just starting to grow a beard. The rest of the story is likely the four or five years that followed. At the very end of the story, he can't be older than 20.

@BubbaRobot887 More or less answered it, but I'll be more blunt about it. He should be about at least 20 years old because that's how long Oddysseus has been away from Ithaca.

Well thank you both. That clears this up. The only thing is... I'm not sure Tom Holland will grow a beard no matter how old he gets.
