I direct you to search google then use "XNALara" plus the game 3d models you want to search.... I warn you, it is usually not for the faint of heart

Anyway, is this the wishful thinking thread??

do you guys remember the Chrono Resurrection?

Yeah, the full story is that the guy isn't actually making a full game, just a 3d portfolio. And yeah, sure, you can make a way better looking Chrono Trigger characters from modifying Dragonball/Dragon Quests characters, but yeah it was like soul-crushing to hear that the guy got a cease and desist order from Squeenix because people thought he was making a full 3d remake game of Chrono Trigger.
Is this the model?

I found this out a while ago. Here's Cryzen claiming to have made an original animation. Note how proudly he points out that it's done apparently by hand, not in Source Film Maker.

That's technically true, it's hand-animated and not in SFM, but not by him. This is the tech demo from Nvidia.

All he did was a model swap, and not very well as some of the assets are either missing or clipping and the lighting is completely broken. The comments patting him on the back for it is still amusing.

hum doing your entire porfolio on a protected IP was already a risky move

anybody remember hyrule total war mod?
I remember mostly of the dark and gritty story and the very stiff animation

That's really bad and lazy. The result can be summed up as the dark lord waking up in an oversized Disney World Goofy suit. If he had put in any work the face would be animated in some way, just some tiny things like some animation around the eyes would have gone a long way, instead he's locked into being as animated as a plastic mask.

The rigging is fucked as well, that one he could have cleaned up. Look at the arms and wrists of the character after exiting the castle, Bowser is walking like a twee anime schoolgirl where the arms are pulled in so the elbows touch the torso while the forearms and hands are slightly raised outwards.

There are auto-riggers that pastes a skeleton from one model onto another and he must have used something like that.

You don't understand
A million particle effects and obnoxious lens flare + bloom means it's good!

I can relate to this so much. This thread is both hilarious and correct about CryzenX. I remember going onto his live stream, (Yes, the one with R.I.P. Etika)
and voicing my opinions in the chat. I was beyond horrified and mainly going like;
"What the hell man?! xD" "What's that got to do with Ocarina Of Time!" "Don't add that gravestone to Hyrule Field" and "Geesh, the music during this battle is obnoxiously loud".
And the way he stopped at Etika's Ms Paint grave as well. He stood there for 5 minutes or something doing absolute f*ck all trying to garner sympathy or something while the music played out.

But that wasn't the thing that bothered me the most. The visuals caused and still causes me to have a visceral reaction as well. I'm baffled by how many people in the comment section genuinely think that these creations are an improvement and considered having 'better graphics' in any way shape or form, when all it is, is sh*tting over the original designs, disrespecting the people involved and disregarding the original's aesthetic. The 'Nintendo, hire this man!' crowd are probably the same people saying; "I don't like the fog in the n64 version", and then literally ignore the use of fog all throughout the N3DS version. And brush over the importance of it. Especially during that specific Shadow Link section, where it's being used to fake an endless water world and used to transition from the illusionary to normal room again.

I can go on and on about the more technical details of Ocarina Of Time, as I am following it's decompilation process and have a copy of the N3D version for Citra that I've played a dozen times. But all I wanna add to this is that I find CryzenX's character design absolutely atrocious. It hurts so much looking at these characters. xD
