This reminds me of one of those cheesy soap opera plots wherein an actor leaves his role and is replaced by a new actor "with a new face." So then the original actor decides to come back and they have to invent some cockamamy excuse, like they're twins that were separated at birth, new face guy had been held captive for all of these years, etc.
Anyhoo, it will be interesting to find out how Nic managed to pull this off. There is already rampant speculation, from "He gained all the weight back!!" to "Skinny Nic was AI generated."
He is, of course, fucking with his own timeline, but...
