The translator of the Pokemon games from Red and Blue through Diamond and Pearl is a member of Something Awful, the English-language games have been full of memes and internet lore for ages. (Not the best example there, but the first one that came to mind.)

I actually suspect that might have been a reason why Nob was sacked after DP which was full of Internet culture tomfoolery, but.

(For the record, I personally think TPCi is too tryhard with their internet references and that Nob pulled it off much better. Nob also had a better track record at catching subtle jokes and puns and getting them localized properly.)

Haha, no, it's fine. I mean, to an "outsider" (for lack of a better word; "outsider" sounds so negative and exclusionary, and that's not what I'm trying to convey), I'd imagine that it does look bizarre. But when your friends and followers are all playing and tweeting about the game, well... it's not that big of a deal? I mean it probably annoys my Facebook friends, since my tweets get posted to my Facebook feed, but I really don't care what some assholes that I went to school with ten years ago think. (And I may possibly have a really good chance of getting hired by The Pokemon Company when I graduate, so if they think I'm just being childish and dumb and have no future when they seem my pogeymans statuses, hahahaha.)

I'm just glad Nick isn't tweeting about going to a Pokemon tournament and ogling all the prepubescent girls there. Hell, I hope Play! Pokemon already has him banned.
