Anna, it sounds like you have a really solid support group in your real life, and kudos for that. Outside your real network, I like to think you can come here if you need help. I don't speak for the forums, but I think i can safely say that if you needed sudden rapid fire assistance to protect you from a renegade lolcow, any one of us would do anything we could to get you back to a safe state. I'm certain that's a worst-case last-ditch scenario, but I also believe it's a real option for you if plans A through D fell through. So hi, I'm glad you're here instead of NOT here.

And, while I'm totally kissing ass, I just want to point out that Null, again, is one of the coolest people surfing these tubes.

As for NB, I dunno. I just don't understand how this happens. I've seen families and circles of friends fall into disrepair. I've seen people slip through the cracks. But for an entire subsection of our species to fail so hard they don't even tend to their own mouths? I dunno. That's some backwoods clan folk that I assumed wasn't smart enough to access the internet.

I'm going to buy s few more rounds of ammo and another years worth of emergency food, just knowing someone like Nick Bate is around.

If this post is A-Loggish, I apologize in advance. I'll delete if that's the case.
Master (shit) Bate's days are numbered. His beyond British level teeth could end up getting plaque in his body, causing heart problems. The disgusting apartment is a giant Petri dish for incalculable diseases to catch. And the lack of bathing can lead to serious health problems.
That said, welcome to the forums, Anna. Love your posts. Very insightful into this particular...whatever the hell Nicky is. Glad you got him out of your life. Had a similar situation with an ex who refused to accept the breakup. She wasn't Nick level scary, but insanely frustrating. I could share some stories about her in Personal Lolcows, but they probably wouldn't be very interesting.
Sorry for the tangent. I think it's safe to say the forum has your back, especially given Null's tweet to Sick Bate.

Thank you so much for your support! I really am lucky--all my friends, online and off, are super supportive, and so are my parents. I really do have a great support network, and for that, I am truly grateful. And if I do ever need that kind of help, I'll be sure to come here if need be. :)

Also, in regards to the math thing...that's genuinely hilarious, IMO. Especially since being intelligent and being good at math aren't necessarily the same thing, though of course they're not mutually exclusive. (Hell, I'm decently intelligent, and I barely passed math when I took it during my first quarter at community college. Like, I got the absolute lowest passing grade possible. And that was beginner-level college algebra. Granted, a lot of that was due to not being particularly good on tests, but my point stands.)

Plus, even if he turned out to be more intelligent that he seems--which I highly doubt to be the case--he's not any good at applying it. And realistically, it's all about what you do with what you have, for lack of better words.

Null made me laugh in my lecture, he doesn't fuck around.

When I first read Nicks references to Anna as "wife" I thought he might be trying to mask her identity in a retarded manner. Now I'm wondering if he actually just sees you as a passive role he's already claimed. Sorry you gotta deal with this creep :(

Yeah...unfortunately that is how he sees me. For all he claims to be progressive in various ways, his views on women in general and me in particular are kind of horrendously misogynistic.

If I might delve into a bit of armchair psychology, he kind of verges on having a Madonna-Whore complex. I'm expected to keep virginal and pure and chaste and innocent, because I'm his "wife" and only he's allowed to have sex with me, and since he seems totally fine with the idea of fucking other women (see: probably molesting his sister, all but threatening to rape Maddi), every other woman falls into the Whore category in his mind.

For all he claims to love me, he doesn't truly view me as an equal. He puts me on a pedestal and refuses to acknowledge me as, well, human--flaws and all.

His attitude reminds me of Chris. With Chris, he had a number of standards that his sweetheart had to be held up to, but such standards didn't apply to Chris at all. For example, if Chris was stressed, then he could go to a strip club. By the same token, the woman he supposedly loved wasn't allowed to do the same. Autists like Nick and Chris have a skewed view of their own self worth and believes that they're justified in preaching but not practicing. Concepts such as double standards are below them in their minds. The inability to understand or acknowledge the feelings of others is also a common theme I'm seeing here.

What shocks me is how there are so many people like them in the world when there shouldn't be anyone like Chris or Nick in existence in the first place.

His psych evaluation says he has an IQ of 129 http://pastebin.com/pjX41LpG

I call bullshit (especially since I only got 115 from my evaluation four years ago) and IMHO whoever he was seeing at the time must have been a really cheap and incompetent doctor assuming that's all his poor redneck family could afford:alog:

Also (sorry I'm late since I've been visiting family in L.A.), welcome to the forums.

Pikonic: A bit of both, really. His stupidity is actually what keeps me sane in regards to the whole thing, 'cause I can laugh at that--if he had half a brain he'd be infinitely more terrifying, and that's saying quite a bit.

Randall Fragg: They are. :) As for guns, I'm kind of terrified of them, but I do own a bowling pin and I'm fairly certain I could wield that as a weapon if push came to shove. And, y'know, there are knives in the kitchen. Granted, those are all close-range, but hopefully if he did come out here--and I sincerely hope he never will--they'd be sufficient.
The only weapon you really need is a super soaker or at least a spray bottle.

IQ tests aren't all that valid in my opinion. The questions are mostly abstract and don't address actual knowledge, which explains his :stupid: with regard to, well, everything.
Alternate explanation: IQ scores are also not fixed. They're generally a range from low to high, and IQ fluctuates due to a number of factors. In Little Nicky's case, it likely stays at the lower levels and as degenerated over time.
Disclaimer: not a psychologist (yet) and most of this is from memory, so I could be wrong.

Actually, I should probably mention something that I've been a bit reluctant to mention here, which is that I myself am on the autism spectrum (and, unlike Nick at least, formally diagnosed). As such, I know a fair bit about the disorder, and their behavior regarding double standards is not a particularly common autistic trait. It seems closer to something associated with narcissistic personality disorder--they believe themselves to somehow be superior to others, and thus exempt from the rules they set for everyone else.

And frankly, I actually doubt Nick is legitimately autistic, despite his insistence that he is. For one thing, he seems to completely lack empathy, which, contrary to media portrayals, is not an autistic thing at all. (We're not always good at expressing it, but we do feel it.) It's closer to sociopathy than anything else.

As for the psych evaluation, I'm a bit skeptical on what the psychiatrist said myself. I'm fairly convinced that the psychiatrist was far too eager to take Nick's personal comments at face value (since I'm referred to as having been his "girlfriend", which is, of course, bullshit), which would lead to some extremely skewed perceptions. It's not like the bastard's known for being a beacon of honesty, after all. There seems to have been no real questioning in regards to some of what he said, which disturbs me (especially since he DID openly admit to wanting to murder his family--the psychiatrist took his claims that he would never do so at absolute face value, in addition to his claims that he's never engaged in sexual activities with children). So yeah, definitely a lot of incompetence there. That being said, it is possible that his IQ is higher than one might expect--as drtoboggan mentioned, IQ tests are based more on abstract thought than on knowledge, common sense, or logic. I'm still a bit shocked that there's even a slight chance he has an above-average IQ, however.

Wow, this took me way too long to write up and I got kind of rambly. Sorry 'bout that.

You'd be surprised at how many people on this forum are actually on the autistic spectrum. I have Asperger's myself. And you're right, double standards isn't exactly a trait relating to autism, it's just one that these two seem to share. I guess I've just gotten into the habit of describing them as autists, so my bad.

I do agree that it's fully possible that he isn't, because autism doesn't seem to account for the sheer depth of his madness (unsurprisingly, just like Chris). This psychiatrist sounds grossly imcompotent too. I don't know, wouldn't admitting that you want to kill your entire family raise any red flags at all? If Master Bate gets free passes, it's only going to cause things to escalate until he does something absolutely atrocious. As you said earlier, even if he has an above average IQ, it's not like he is able to apply it in any meaningful matter.

I wouldn't worry about having autism and being on the boards. There's a lot of poking fun at autism here, but I don't think most here have a problem with anyone just because they have autism.

Ahh, good to know! I was a bit concerned, because I know ASDs are the subject of a lot of mockery online, but I'm glad to see it's not an issue. Whew! (And ToroidalBoat, that's perfectly fine. I tend to have a rather self-deprecating sense of humor anyway, and I actually joke about my autism a fair bit myself.)

Yeah, I'm definitely amazed that his homicidal fantasies didn't cause the psychiatrist to...you know...call the goddamn authorities. I dunno about Pennsylvania, but in California, you can get detained by the police if you threaten to harm yourself or others. Seriously, they fucking handcuff you and everything. (Unfortunately, I know this from personal experience. Long story short, I had a severe and very public breakdown, and threatened suicide at one point. But that's irrelevant.) I know a lot of laws of that sort vary from state to state, but it seems like that would be something they'd be legally required to report. I'll have to do some research there, I think, because my curiosity has been piqued.

EDIT: Found some info. It seems that threatening to kill or harm someone can cause you to face criminal charges in Pennsylvania. Now, to be fair, I'm not sure whether he threatened to do so, but it still seems like it would be definite grounds for some sort of investigation, at the least.

Weren't the authorities called by someone online but the police didn't take it seriously because distance and it being online? And as for autism, I think we all have a little touch of it here. It's Chris, just reading a bit about him...changes you...I think.

They were indeed--they were called by my mother, in regards to him stalking and harassing me. As far as I know, however, the whole death threats thing has not been reported.
