Okay firt, I don't know if we can say "made by CArpenter" if he is only executive producer. I know this gives him a lot of power, but the style is often determined even more so by the director. Second, do we really need another one? I will say one thing: I love Halloween. It was one of the first horror movie franchises I ever saw. And the first one as well as H20 hold a special place in my heart.
But I am also aware of how screwed up the franchise is. Part IV till VI, who involve a cult and an abandoned daughter by Laurie anyone? the ninth who fucked H20's finale, which was pretty damn awesome, up the ass and killed off Jamie Lee Curtis within the first ten minutes? As I see it, the franchise has goten out of hand/jumped the shark years ago to the point that bringing it back to its roots and make it legitimately scary again is a task I don't even know Carpenter is capable of doing. And he still has sparks in him, don't get me wrong (the kind of music he e.g. makes with friends is awesome to listen) but after H:Ressurection, I doubt there is anything you can do as a sequel that works. Preuel about Loomis losing his faith in mental patient Michael would be perhaps an idea, but otherwise?
At least it would not involve Rob Zombie, as Redneck Michael Meyers was the worst.
