I'm wholly aware. Toei barely had competent animators for the original three serieses, and considering what their body of work for TV anime looks like (mostly shit) it makes me wonder if they'll actually produce something that has quality this time.
Toriyama's involvement with Super is what's got me interested, and I'll definitely watch this. Can't be worse than GT! *knocks on wood*

I was a bigger fan of Dragonball than DBZ but I still watched all of Z (even if I liked it way less after the Frieza Saga ended). I'll probably not watch it immediately either way and wait to see what others are saying about it.

They have barely competent animators now
At the very least they're inconsistent. They tend to do a pretty good job on One Piece when its an important fight or scene... just don't look too much at the background characters.

The shit like with the newer Sailor Moon anime is what I'm afraid of. My sister is a raving fan of Sailor Moon and she hates the animation for it.They have barely competent animators now

First of all, Dragonball has always been an action-comedy series, and secondly, Vegeta's Bingo Dance was fucking hilarious, so put the nukes back in your closet.

That's not the only one. Crystal is such a goddamn train wreck. With that knowledge in mind, I'm not holding my breath for this new DBZ.

The animation in DBZ was never the best, but I'm still excited. Why? Because anything related to Dragon Ball is entertaining to me. Hell, me and my brother had a great time just watching GT and making fun of it.

I mean, I understand that, because yeah, it does, but I expected it to be simple. Toriyama seems to be intentionally designing gods and god-related forms with simplicity in mind, which I really don't mind at all.
