No one has been a bigger faggot in all of this than the Max Nordau/Brian Griffin (and probably the Max Twain rumor mongoring) sock account. He has tried to be this constantly negging perversion of Rules for Radicals where if he just diverts enough on "live to a higher standard" with MAGA opinions people will just magically switch from Trump to Meatball. But he could never understand MAGA operates differently and just doubled down to the point where even people like Mollie Hemmingway and Julie Kelly, people open to Desantis, were getting fed up with him.

I want to see the tea from the Nordau account when someone finally shows everyone Pushaw is a fucking idiot and can say that now that the race is over.

Well, today is a day for gloating sure, and I will a bit. BUT, I will say that the split between RDS and Trump doesn't seem too bad. The more professional Ron people are on board with the endorsement, and Team Trump is sending out conciliatory notes even if the true believers don't want to hear it.

We'll see how the next few months go, but Meatball may salvage his career and hopefully learn a lesson. A lot of lessons. Hopefully we get some inside info on how exactly this clusterfuck happened. Hell, Fight Club members giving off the record info to the press, come here. We're more interested in the failures of the social media campaign than the media. Whelp, nothing to do now but wait for the post mortem.

This was a lovely thread to read, seems like both sides are mainly taking this well and already had plans to reconcile over this, seems like the only people mocking this are Nimrata Randhawa fans and Dems that will inevitably vote for Joe Biden.

Max Nordau / Bryan Griffin is the epitome of the pretentious smarminess that has characterized much of the online presence of DeSantis 2024. My foremost gripe with him is his disingenuousness, shown by the fact that he himself was posting in 2020 about how Trump shouldn't speak against Fauci, yet three years later nonstop kvetches about how Trump supposedly surrendered the country to Fauci.

Mentioning and thanking your family is standard fare for concession/victory speeches. They're supposed to make you sound humble and sympathetic both to facilitate reconciliation with the opposition and to either mitigate the loss of political capital you inevitably incur when you lose an election or make you look gracious in victory.
All in all I think Desantis did a pretty good concession speech. A bit of a wordy preamble but he's doing the smart thing and publicly distancing himself from all things neocon.

The entire reason why so many of these people remain butthurt about COVID because it really exposed them to the reality that they try to deny for the first time. That and because they were owned and have yet to get their "vengeance" for it.

The fact is that a lot of conservatives have zero power in todays society. Especially political. They often try to pretend they do to save their mental state. COVID however was when they were walked all over, and no matter what they did or how angry they got nothing changed for the better. For all their years bitching about taking on a tyrannical government in a civil war, they faced actual government force for the first time and none of them did anything about it. No arms were taken against the government, instead most of them just sat there thinking that libs were hanging themselves for the election. But then nothing came about in the election, and despite absolute proof of election tampering, nothing was done and most conservatives then threw people involved in January 6th under the bus.

To add to that last point, all this people care about are winning elections because no matter what the GOP does that is the one way that they can pretend they still have power and control. Plus the ability to "own" the libs. It is literally the "Sargon needs more dopamine!" meme. They just need something to make them feel good and that they are winning against people they hate.

Instead, they have routinely lost each election that has come since. 2020 didn't go their way. 2021 was their one kind of victory, and it saw mostly electing a new batch of do-nothing cucks like Youngkin into office. 2022 and 2023 were both disasters. The last few years have been a harsh reality breaker for a lot of dumb conservative normies. Everything they pretended to worry about for decades is coming true, and that they have to face the reality that for all their tough talk they aren't going to do anything to stop it.

here's the issue, tons of conservatives were literally attacking Trump for not being even more restrictive-minded back in 2020. Lots of conservatives acting right now that "Trump bowed to Fauci" were advocating for more masking and longer lockdowns back during 2020.

Personally I think the entire world should've just treated it as the fucking flu! But I'm also mature enough to recognize there's no way Trump could've forced the country to treat it as the flu, and also that he was at the very least less lockdown minded than the Democrats were during 2020.
