Last Kingdom is like a guilty pleasure for me....I know it's repetitive but I just like the idea of adventure and free spirit of the series..... I agree mostly about the glimmer of hope in the Netflix Witcher. I mean ...the budget is low, actors are literal pick up hires from second rate hire agency (except superman), but the plot is ....good ....thanks to source material.

Agree that this is just mediocre. Cavill is doing the best he can with what he's got, but I just think he was the wrong person for the part (though I've not read the books but are planning to.)

Why are 2/3ds of the people in Nilfgard black? In the books and games aren't Nilfgardians pale to the point where even white people from other regions are like "holy shit these fuckers are white?"

They aren't distinguishable by looks in the books so they're white like everyone else. Though there was hilarious propaganda the North put out between wars that suggested Nilfgaardians were just a mutated race of elves.

If they stick to the books the only fucking Ciri's getting is from a bulldyke rapist lesbo and awkward groping from an old elf.

There is no cucking happening in that scene. The people in the back aren't even real. Ironically there is an actual cucking involving Yennefer in the first two books, but not in the show.

They don't stick to the books, there is a black elf called Dara.

I thought it was decent, nothing spectacular. I've never read the short stories, so I don't really know how different it is from those, but I was at least able to look past the whole race casting bullshit (except for Triss).

Cavill did overdo the voice a bit, but seeing as how he only had Cockle's work to sample, it's understandable and still a decent performance. Maybe S2 will be a bit better, but it's certainly a tossup at this point.

This is my first real introduction to The Witcher series and I'm enjoying it fair enough, Cavill's voice does verge on the ridiculous though.
