There’s some history behind the simping.

Many of the original Giant Bomb staff members were NeoGAF members and/or writers on Gamespot. Jeff Girthmann, who was NeoGAF enemy #1 for giving Zelda Twilight Princess a 8.8, became a martyr and hero overnight in 2007 when he got canned for giving a game that was heavily promoted on Gamespot (Kane and Lynch) a rough review. NeoGAF, busybodies that they are, declared a boycott on the game and even censored “Kane” and “Lynch”. Kane and Lynch did well, NeoGAF’s faggy boycott did nothing.

Not too long after, Girthmann, Ryan Davis, and a couple others formed Giant Bomb in 2008. NeoGAF, still quaffing their own farts despite their failed boycott, heavily promoted it. At the time, NeoFAG’s other favorite site, 1up.com, was in the process of being gutted so they went all in on Giant Bomb. They brought on other NeoGAF members like Patrick Klepek so they felt it was “their” site.

Even though Giant Bomb eventually got purchased by Gamespot’s parent company, NeoGAF still promoted it. Giant Bomb more or less died when Ryan Davis did but NeoGAF died around 2011-2012 so it’s not shocking that these corpses are fucking each other. Abby Russell was awful but that site and RejectEra are awful too so it’s fitting that trash likes trash.
