Oh, it's better than that. We also have a thing called carer payment which is paid to someone - usually a relative but it can be a friend - providing care to the person receiving disability support pension. It's paid at the same rate and is quite the rort as it's only supposed to be paid when the amount of care required is substantial but in reality a lot of people providing minimal care receive it.
Assuming anything he posted is true, though, his disability pension will be subject to ongoing review. The government got a bee in its bonnet a couple of years ago about people under 35 being on DSP and introduced engagement requirements for them - although those would likely be waived if he really does live in a remote community.
