The funniest thing is that the reboot made it sound erotic rather than actual pain. So I can see where he's coming from, it's just... from what I've heard they fixed that. They made it sound painful instead with the later games.
Then again I dropped that like a hot potato when I realized what they were going with so I haven't been keeping up entirely. I prefer over the top Laura Croft, not... not The Croft of Us.

If ResetEra LLC does not contact the local authorities to warn them of these repeated suicide threats messaged directly to their official twitter account (as per procedures in their Terms of Service), I will take that as a sign that they are encouraging his suicide with their alleged gas-lighting.

There has always been a belief within GAF in all of its various iterations over the years that they are at a premier video game discussion forum. Which wasn't true then and sure isn't true now. That also has created an insular effect so most of them are unable or unwilling to see how awful the place really is.
There used to be an old GAF meme of GAF > Internet > GAF where people actually thought GAF was an important meme factory and it would proliferate the internet. Instead it was people posting old and stale 4chan memes but it was new to them so hundreds into thousands of people think that GAF came up with it first. Then they see it elsewhere and think "Wow! GAF truly has its fingers on the pulse of the internet!"

GAF actually did originate a few memes, like Creepy Woody. And they were, at one point, an actual "big name" forum that real developers posted at.
But GAF was never as influential as GAFfots thought it was.
