Just discovering this thread, been looking for a place to post this. Varg frequently claims that his pagan beliefs were passed down to him through oral tradition by his family, because even in antiquity Scandinavians never really bought into Christianity and have passed down their pagan beliefs in secret (and they were totally not made up by Varg himself), and furthermore he claims that this is how almost all Scandinavians are secretly raised. He even claims that the only reason his birthname is Kristian is because he was named after a king and NOT because his family was ever Christian, because his family has always been staunchly anti-Christian PAGANS.
He also claims to be related to one of the founders of the Christian church of Norway.
He's such a pathological liar it's hilarious. He deserves his own thread at this point.

Also, this is the writer: a shitlib from Savannah College of Art and Design. Nothing in her portfolio is worth reading.

I do love Irish Karen in the comments declaring that the "imported" religious beliefs were false on the basis of "because I said so." "We had no concept of absolute evil and then we were destroyed by people who did!" Compelling argument; your hedonistic civilization was conquered, but the righteous conquerors had it wrong and the path forward is actually worshipping the Judeo-Christian Devil. Makes sense to me, what's your problem?
