Cockatoo on my powerline this afternoon. They're migrating through at the moment, but they'll be gone in a couple of weeks.

Been a while since I got out and had some fun, glad I'm feeling it again. Recently got a wireless radio trigger for my flash so I'm excited to go get some off camera flash macros and some spooky night shots.

A heatwave like this ending is a little like a fever breaking. Violent and chaotic, sudden and humid. Thank God it's going to cool off a little, though, even if the seasonal forecast doesn't give me much hope that we're getting anything more than a few short breaks before fall. The Pacific looks like a burgundy bruise on temperature maps, and putting that much bathtub-warm water in the same metaphorical room as all of humanity (give or take a few people on the ISS and Tiangong) can't end well.
