Native American arts and crafts are lame as hell

There are some serious entitlement issues and magical thinking issues among the upcoming generation of natives. Every time I hear the phrase "since time immemorial" I cringe as a reflex. Everyone knows natives have been in North America for a long time, there is no need to exaggerate it to infinity.
I'm going to be the UHM ACKTSHULLY guy.

It just means "a time before we kept legal records." Specifically, to the britbongs that invented the phrase, it means "before 1189, at the end of King Henry II's reign."

It's a very finite legal term of art.

I will take my autism stickers... now. 8)

I've met natives and historians who take it to literally mean that they have always existed in North America, did not migrate from Eurasia, and implicitly are and entirely different species that was put on Earth by an act of a creator separately from the rest of humanity. It might have a technical definition, but the use of it in native american and australian aboriginal communities is not aligned with that definition.

I am reminded of an old Demetri Martin joke.

"Dream catchers really work... if your dream is to be gay."

People buy hand crafts as if they're somehow experiencing something from history. Whatever. If you want non-sense, go to Australia and in the 1970's a white guy invented Aboriginal art and people buy that thinking it's traditional.

Back to Native Americans, what's with white people outside of the USA getting tattoos of Native Americans?

If it is true that Native American art is lame, then how do you explain my ribbon shirt?

I think forest nigger art is neat. I personally collect silver and turquoise jewelry from reputable dealers. That being said, dreamcatchers are so over done and gay. Just seeing a stupid fake one hanging fron a car mirror or some dangerhair twat with a dreamcatcher tattoo pisses me off.

PS, I am a forest nigger.

I think the Indians make good arts and crafts when they are not implicitly saying "our culture is superior to White people" or "we super secretly invented everything American which is definitely not derived from Europe."

I think the heraldry is pretty cool. Eagle feathers, buffalo, the weather god iconography. It's pretty cool when blended with European technology.
I remember making a whole D&D character as a kid who basically had Mel Gibson's tomahawk from the Patriot.

If they were here for so long, how come they never built even one skyscraper or shopping center? So lazy.
did they even get past the stone age?

i genuinely don't know if they left the stone sge before whites arrived

as far as i know that the incas knew about bronze, tho they mostly used stone tools cuz it was cheaper than copper or bronze,

alsonthey were ruled by priests (aka beurocrats) and were fueled by corn, which they also turned into beer they made by chewing it and letting the enzymes in their mouths break down the starch (gross) oh, and cocaine, lots of it

u can't use a wheeled cart in mountains, so u use coca leaves and peasants to carry shit

but they knew how to make trinkets n shit out of gold and silver

so yeah, an empire of bloodthirsty junkies with so much gold it was worth less than bronze

as for north america, they didnt have lsrge, organized societies, and i dunno if they left the stone age

wer'e talking about the guys who only knew how to hunt bison and carve wood,
