So GOG/ CD Project Red banned all sales in Russia and Belarus it seems, the GOG forums are a bit of a shitshow atm and in a totally stunning and brave move they locked the announcement thread lmao

  • Suspending new registrations and transfer in of all Russian domain names: .ru, .com.ru, .net.ru, .org.ru, .pp.ru, .msk.ru, .spb.ru, .рф (.xn--p1ai), .москва (.xn--80adxhks), .рус (.xn--p1acf), .дети (.xn--d1acj3b), .su, .tatar
We will continue to process renewals of existing services for the time being, however this may change at any time and without notice.

If you are located in Ukraine and are having trouble paying for or renewing your services, please submit a support ticket and we’ll do what we can to help you.

We will continue to monitor the situation and update you accordingly.

This is arguably the most sensible version of this. Sure you're not making new registrations but at least you aren't fucking over existing customers which you shouldn't do anyway. Granted I ain't exactly brimming with confidence they don't go the whole 9 yards with it.
 
The freelancer platform Fiverr has nuked all of it's Russian members because “The devastation in Ukraine requires action and has triggered global economic sanctions aimed at ending the conflict. In light of the ongoing situation, Fiverr is suspending its business in Russia starting today.”

I've worked with a Russian freelanacer from there on a project and was looking to hire them again for another soon since I liked their work. Don't worry though I could always hire someone from some other country that is committing whatever the sin of the previous month was. Blaming random citizens for the actions of their government is like living in a glass house, especially for an Israeli company.

It's just silly honestly. Because of the no DRM thing GOG essentially works on an honour system and they just alienated a bunch of consumers to virtue signal. To be fair they are Polacks so probably not very intelligent to begin with.

If you Google "GOG games" the second or third result is a pirate site that mirrors all of their installers, literally easier to pirate than it is to sign up for their service.
