Nice, they’re a great looking beetle. Didn’t see any this year, maybe the cold spring was no good for them

Probably. I've seen only one adult flying around this summer, though their larvae are abundant if you know where to look for.

Yeah, we’ve had them turn up in pots and old grow bags. Very impressive grubs, really big buggers, and I always make sure to carefully rehome any that I find. We had lots of chafers last year, you can hear them coming a mile off. I hope next year we get more.
