I saw a surprising amount of incels converting to Islam, but it turns out they were doing it just to get a wife.
Not to derail the thread too much, but this post reminded me that the reasons for men and women converting to Islam is actually really interesting.
Islam is a masculine religion, it favors men and gives men a sense of machismo. It also is a great religion if you are an incel. So you'd think that more men would convert, but it's actually women. I did some research about it and here's what I found:
Women do it because they couldn't get anything out of their previous religion (which tends to be Christianity). Some do it to marry Muslim men, but since Muslim men can marry "People of the Book" - ie Christians and Jews - a woman wouldn't necessarily need to convert to marry. Some do, but it's a minority.
On the flip side, men tend convert to Islam because:
1. They are incels and want to get a wife (Muslim women have to marry Muslim men so the only way for a non-Muslim man to bag a Muslim woman is if he converts. Or he may just be really into polygamy)
2. They are incels and like the "discipline" of Islam (which is ironic since Islam is not the only "disciplined" religion, but regardless, Islam allows for an incel to gain control of his life.)
3. They are incels and like the aforementioned sense of machismo that Islam gives men (which gives the incel control over others and also the opportunity to attract women using a false sense of bravado).
Tldr; women convert to Islam because of...idk, weakness? not being a faithful practitioner of their original religion? (I couldn't come up with a great summary for why women convert), but men convert to Islam because they are incels.
