There's already a major thread about "music while reading", but it doesn't quite fit what I'm posting here, this is for music you've noticed that personally helps you to study, or concentrate to a higher degree while reading, and not just while reading casually.

There's just 2 rules for this thread's posting format, that hopefully :sadwaifu: you'll follow unless you're a Redditor:
- Spoiler your embeds/files.
-
If you embed, post a link as well, or the title, so that we don't have to developer-tools your message when link rot occurs.

Just this one on my part to start off, since I used it a long time ago to study:

Aphex Twin is one of those musicians that I put on when I have to calm down and focus on something. His music is really pleasing to the ears and very ambient(y).
Xtal
IZ-US
Z Twig
Stone In Focus
Alberto Balsalm
Flim

Also check out the user48736353001 playlist, I don't know the backstory of their release but it's basically a megaton of Aphex Twin tracks that Richard James dumped onto Soundcloud, there's a ton of good tracks and if you want to go on an adventure you can listen to the entire thing like one big record.

Will definitely give it a listen. Thanks, man.

Dub techno or deep/ambient/organic house type music, particularly with the volume lowered.
[Dub Techno] Echo Delta - Aspects

[Deep House] Falling (Hexlogic Remix)

[Organic House] PROFF - Whale Song

Shitpost music. I'm not kidding. It sadly consists of a lot of gachimuchi.
It makes me smile and laugh, lowering my tension and helping me focus. That being said, I've long since self-exiled myself from study groups when I still did study for most of the day :story:
Ah, depression and longing, my old friend.
Any of those old jungle mixes on Youtube are pretty great for doing any kind of computer-related work.

Jungle mix is just the best, nothing like it.

Probably low key ambient stuff like Sigur Ros, Brian Eno, Toro y Moi

Here's a few albums i personally put on for bg stuff

Also, old anime and videogame soundtracks work really well.

For some reason, the soft, dreary atmosphere of The Cure's album 'Faith' helps me concentrate. Maybe it's the mixing of the vocals being overpowered by the instruments that make it less distracting than the usual music for me.

Obviously...
lofi hip hop radio 📚 beats to relax/study to

But seriously

Basically ambient music. It drowns out the background noise without calling attention to itself.

EDIT: Can anyone explain why fucking no Youtube videos can be embedded anymore?

Some stuff I listen to, a little ambient and some not but still helps with getting focused. It really depends on what I'm reading or doing that fits the atmosphere.
Klause Schulze - Return Of The Tempel / Serenade In Blue
Klause Schulze - Kontinuum
Thurnin - Menhir
Ziggurath - True North

Other stuff

Haircuts For Men - Nothing Special, Nothing Wonderful
Oblique Occasions - Animus
Trademarks & Copyrights : Requiem for Malls: Consumerism

Khruangbin‘s stuff is usually good for this sort of thing:

Sigh, I almost just asked for embeds/files to be within a spoiler, yet.... :sadwaifu:

Only some videos are for some reason not embedded; I think that's on YouTube's part and some people have speculated about the cause, but I personally have not looked deeply into this, so can't say right now.

However, as far as I know it's not a transparent issue, because according to the API your videos are embeddable:
embeddable.png

But maybe that's just in regards to the uploader setting them as such, so other criteria is used afterwards to determine if they can be embedded or not. There could be a bunch of things.

I think you can check if a YT video is embeddable with https://www.youtube.com/embed/VIDEOID where you substitute VIDEOID for the video ID, but take it with a grain of salt, who knows what has changed by now.

Apparently, there used to be another method to check, but doesn't seem to work now.
TLDR: YouTube is being YouTube.

Royskopp, mainly everything off Melody AM

Just really chill music that isn't distracting, but makes it so things aren't a bore too

Royskopp - Remind Me

I was originally going to make a thread for "Work music", but since this exists, i'll post a few here.
I am not sure how to classify these songs, so bear with me. For me it's just "lock in and code" music.
Taishi - The Childhood | Link
Haloweak - NARWHAL | Link
Nhato - Gekka | Link
If anybody has more favorite artists of theirs that are similar, i would be glad to listen and possibly expand my playlist.
