Big shoutouts to my dad and other dads who do good job raising their children. Ideally, all dads try, but we sadly don't live in the ideal world.

I'd say the guy or team who invented the transistor is still underrated given the ramifications of that development.

I'd nominate James Clerk Maxwell for the honor. He discovered the laws of electromagnetic radiation. Einstein derived the theories of special and general relatively from Maxwell's equations, and everyone has heard of him, but the general public hasn't heard of Maxwell.

Most "great" people stand on the shoulders of other great, nameless people. I don't think I've ever read about a single historical figure who did it all by themselves. Society tends to rally around one person, and that person gets put in the history books. But those people are rarely good people, as fame mattered to them more than the person actually doing great things.

The most impactful people in my life have quietly lived their lives and done the best they could in their spheres of influence. So to answer your question, OP, many people.
