I preordered the Master Chief Collection because I expected the online to actually work. I was stuck at a screen waiting for players.

I, uh... bought Night in the Woods.
In my defence, the only thing I really knew about it was the art style which appealed to me but in retrospect, I reeeeally wish I knew that the creator was an immature crybaby manchild who puts shoplifting and vandal into his video games 'smashing capitalism' then bitches when people pirate his game and that he needs money. Kinda wish I didn't give him money for that.
But the art style is so niiiice.

The Lost World for ps1, this was the first release that had difficulty that was fuckall and broken however they fixed it in a greatest hits.
Saga Frontier, even with the trick to get unlimited money and buy the best gear possible again it was hard as fuck and felt very unrewarding.
Elder Scrolls Online, I've heard they really cleaned up that game but when I played it it was a cluster fuck of ADD and micromanagement.

Does backing Kickstarters that went nowhere count? I'm pretty sure a few of those haven't delivered. Luckily I never put a whole lot of money into them.
On a secondary note I got the remastered Bioshock games for free on Steam since I owned the originals. I would be pissed if I had paid money for them since they're buggier and rougher running than the originals and actually look worse.

I actually enjoyed that game when I unlocked all of its achievements on my Xbox, but then again, I knew nothing about the creator until I read your post just now. It puts things in a different perspective.

To be honest, the game is blast to play with a close group of friends. If you're playing it by yourself, no amount of mods can really help alleviate how boring the game can get. I kinda blame Yogscast for making Minecraft look like fun with just only 2 people.

Two Worlds 1 and 2 for 360. I knew they were bad going in, but wanted to see how bad they were. The answer is: REALLY fucking bad. The first one would skip cut scenes or freeze trying to play them. I ended up watching the cut scenes on youtube, and like the rest of the game they sucked.
The second one was slightly better, and would actually go through brief periods where I forgot how terrible it was.

Gonna go with Final Fantasy 13 as well. bought it on steam thinking "hey, its only 15$, lets see what all the fuss is about. the first warning was the game needing 60gb of space. Apparently its the cutscenes or something. Then i spent *checks steam* 85 minutes running down long linear corridors fighting various monsters and human dudes. Yes, this also describes Games like FF10 as well, but the difference is in that i at least knew why i was running down a long corridor.
I stopped once i realized that despite playing almost an hour and a half i still knew fuck-all about why i was doing anything, or hell why the characters i was controlling were doing anything. Hiding your entire story in appendixes does not work when the story is the only reason i am moving from point A to point B.
