No one said the mantle of power had to be ugly.

That's the thing with dictators. Most of them are/were snappy dressers.

The only one I can think of who wasn't is Fidel Castro. Not that he was a slob, quite the opposite. But a basic green army uniform could never hope to compete with the sartorial splendor of Hugo Boss draped over everybody's favorite Austrian painter, the Nehru jackets and safari suits of Pol Pot, or any of the colorful traditional dress worn by myriad African dictators both past and present.

For me it's Gaddafi. Also pictured a member of his all female bodyguard team, because how else are you going to have your harem follow you to U.N. conferences.

Jiang Zemin

the president of China
After Deng Xiaoping and the whole 1989 Tiananmen Square shit.
was president for about 20 years

He is criticized for being friendly to both Russia and US
and despite heavy censorship in China
he is often memed to this day as "Moha" chinese translation to "Toad worship" "admiring toad"
because Chinese people all say he resembles a toad.

Fidel had overall rizz he didn't need fancy clothes

profilo continuoso del duce is probably the single greatest piece of art made in the 20th century and it's the most fascist thing anybody has ever come up with. Piet mondrian writes that "Art is higher than reality and has no direct relation to reality" and i think this bust of benito mussolini is an entire thesis on why that is obviously fundamentally incorrect, and does not need to use a single word to do it.

Hitler with a cape is cheating. How can we go up against that ace in the sleeve?

Il Duce, of course. Not only had he all the Italian style, but the Italian Fascist architecture was also top-notch.
As impressive in design as Germania was supposed to be, Speers work was still very derivative of Roman style. At least the Italians could legitamently call the style their own. Greeco-Roman architecture is a forced meme.
